I always wanted to attend a K-event at KCCI (Korean Cultural Center of India), Delhi, ever since I got interested in the Korean Culture through K-pop and K-dramas. Last year, I finally got the chance to be a part of an event at KCCI. The admin of Korean Culture India Fan Club, Ms. Prerna Tiwari organised a birthday celebration event for BTS members Kim Seok-jin and Kim Tae-hyung on December 29, 2019. I will forever be grateful to her for organising this event and giving all of us a memorable experience of a lifetime. Around 130 fans attended this event!
When I arrived at KCCI, I finally met my friends whom I had never met before, yet I shared a beautiful bond with them as we had interacted on social media platforms. Attending this event was a wonderful feeling in itself. All of us were of different age groups who shared a common interest and love for Korean music and the culture.
Since we had some time before the event started, we decided to explore the KCCI facilities. This place is every fan’s dream as all the K-pop and K-drama posters adorn the walls right from the entrance. Stepping into the building, one could actually feel the Korean vibes through the subtle yet beautiful architecture. As we were exploring the gallery section, which is in the basement of the building, we realised it was time for the event to start, so we had to leave in the mid and rush into the auditorium.
It was a chilly day in December, but the auditorium, packed with excited fans, gave such a warm feeling. The highlight of the event was the screening of the concert video of BTS’ latest ‘Speak Yourself’ tour. The experience was so thrilling, with all the fans cheering and singing, as if we all were actually present at the concert. We waved our lightsticks and shed tears as the concert screening came to an end.
But this was just the start of the wonderful day. The event had a lot in store for us with some exceptional performances by fans lined up for the day and as a result, the applauds never stopped. There were times when the singing performances turned into karaoke performances as everybody started singing along with the performers to cheer them.
Even though all the performances were done, the enthusiasm level simply kept increasing. These performances had created the perfect mood for the most famous ‘K-pop Random Dance Challenge’. I can definitely say most of the fans were quite excited for this one because I sure was. A myriad of K-pop songs was played which got everybody jumping with excitement. Playing the game really gave me the thrill that I get when I watch the idols play it.
With this challenge, the activities lined up for the day came to an end. But the fervour was still upbeat because we had a lot of merchandise to take home. From BTS bookmarks and album, a few giveaways were organised by some kind fans and the K-pop Merch Account. After all the giveaways were done, even though only some of us won, at the end of the day everyone had something to cherish. It was a fun and memorable day. This event was a wonderful opportunity to interact with other fans and share our love for the Korean Culture. I look forward to many more such events in the future and wish to meet all those friends again. Till then, I’m certain, we, the Hallyu fans will continue to spread our love and positivity through our virtual events. Let me know what are your memories from this event!

I have these beautiful memories because of you girl. If you have never approached me after Bring the soul movie, might not see my self in these pictures ever. I remember i was eating alone after the movie, and you aproched me to sit with you and your friends. If it wasn’t you, we have never became friends and I have never got to go and meet others in KCCI. I always use to see KCCI on my way from college to home. I was curious to know more about K culture. Now I know so much more, after all these experiences on that day I was so happy, dancing every were. Little happiness for us little k fans.😋 I’ll never forget thanx to you.😋
