Crash Landing on You is a 16-episode tvN series that stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin in the lead. The romantic drama aired from December 14, 2019, to February 16, 2020, and became the third-highest-rated South Korean drama in cable television history.

This drama narrates the story of a South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri, played by Son Ye-jin, who accidentally lands in North Korea when a tornado hits her while she’s paragliding, swaying her to the other side. There, she meets Ri Jeong-hyeok, played by Hyun Bin, a captain in the North Korean Special Force, who offers her shelter and plots to return her to South Korea without anyone noticing. But destiny has other plans for them as the two soon find themselves falling for each other.

A story of two star-crossed lovers fighting for their love to prevail amidst political tensions, this story gives off a fairy-tale vibe and re-instills our faith in the concept of ‘matches made in heaven’ – no matter how far you are from your soulmate, you’ll meet her or him if they are destined for you.

First of all, the characters will make you fall in love with them. They are so likable and charming. I’m in love with Ri Jung Hyeok! But then, who wouldn’t like a charming and a little jealous and protective boyfriend? He is an army officer who loves his nation and is respected by all. He is also the heart-throb of the town. A thorough gentleman, he protects Yoon Se-ri and helps her return to her land.

On the other hand, we have Yoon Se-ri, who is a confident and independent woman. Despite the hate she receives from her family members, she manages to run a successful industry on her own. Isolated in her land, she finally finds love in another land. A tough person whose success is a product of her hard work and capabilities, she finds the hollowness and emptiness in her life filled with love when she crashes in North Korea. And did I mention her mesmerising smile that will make you fall in love with her?

The drama also stars Kim Jung-hyun and Seo Ji-hye, who play vital roles and add to the story. They are convincing in their respective portrayals, and the audience will appreciate their hard work as well.
