He is known for his charismatic and charming personality as he achieved his major recognition for his portrayal of Gu Jun-pyo in the famous K-drama, Boys Over Flowers that made him a household name not only in South Korea but also in the world. After that, he went on to act in several other popular dramas such as The Heirs, City Hunter, Legend of the Blue Sea, and movies like Bounty Hunters and Gangnam Blues. Recently, he crossed 19.3 million followers on Instagram, becoming the most followed South Korean actor. Lee Min-ho is an incredible actor with great acting skills. He attended the Konkuk University in Seoul and has majored in Film and Art. As an actor, he is known for getting immensely involved in his characters, which makes his roles memorable among the audience. He not only reads his scripts attentively but also goes behind the cameras to monitor his scenes. But, that is not all, along with being a supremely talented actor, he is a soulful singer as well. He has released studio albums such as ‘My Everything’ in Korean and Japanese, and ‘Song for You’. He has also sung OSTs for his dramas such as ‘My Everything’ in Boys Over Flowers, and ‘Painful Love’ in The Heirs.

He has a loving mother, father, and an elder sister. Although he does not consider himself to be as caring as his sister in terms of taking care of his mother, he shows his affection in many other ways. He gave his first earnings to his mother and bought a house for his family. He also has a loving pet named Choco, a mini pinscher. Lee Min-ho is not just an actor, but he is an inspiration to many due to his sheer hard work and perseverance. In an unfortunate car accident in 2006, he and his actor friend Jung Il-woo were severely injured. This accident left him bedridden for nearly a year, and Lee Min-ho incurred serious leg injuries. During that period, instead of being depressed, he thought about how he could become a better actor or artist in the future. Again in 2011, he suffered another car accident while filming for his drama, City Hunter, but he didn’t have any serious injuries at that time. Without wasting any time, he completed shooting for the drama successfully. Despite suffering all this pain, he emerged as a better artist and actor who is loved immensely. He also served his mandatory military service as a public servant. He is ambidextrous, which means he can write using both hands without any difficulty.
Charitable and Socially Conscious
Lee Min-ho has always been on the receiving end of immense love from the public, and he makes sure to give it back to society. In 2014, he created a charity platform, PROMIZ, to raise funds for the social and humanitarian causes. The word PROMIZ is a combination of the word, ‘promise’, his name and his official fan club name ‘MINOZ’. This donation platform has collaborated with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and has contributed to several causes towards the welfare of underprivileged children and preserving endangered species. Min-ho has also made a donation of 100 million won under his fan club’s name to UNICEF’s Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund in 2015. For his contribution to society, he received the ‘Sharing Happiness Award’ in 2016 from the Ministry of Health and Welfare of South Korea.
King of Ads/Commercials and Ambassadorship
Till now, he has had several commercials under his name as a brand ambassador. Some of the very known brands he has been associated with are LG, Eider, Etude House, Romanson, KIA Motors, Twosome Place, Semir, LOTTE Duty Free, Innisfree, BBQ Chicken, and Domino’s. He has also been appointed as the Honorary Ambassador for UNICEF, Konkuk University, and the 2018 Pyongyang Winter Olympics. Currently, he is an Honorary Ambassador of the King Sejong Institute Foundation.
