K-drama Review: Touch Your Heart

Anisha Nath, Kolkata, West Bengal

The South Korean drama Touch Your Heart also known as “Jinsim-i Data” (Korean:진심이 닿다) really touched my heart and I was amazed by all the beautiful scenes, OSTs, and the acting skills of the cast. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Yegeo and directed by Park Joon-hwa, this drama is really joyful and captivating.

Cast

Starring beautiful Yoo In-na as Oh Jin-shim and ever-glowing Lee Dong-wook as Kwon Jung-rok. I adored this ship after watching Goblin and wanted them to work as the lead in some other drama too and my wish came true! It premiered on tvN on February 6, 2019, and was on air till March 28, 2019, and aired every Wednesday-Thursday for 16 episodes. It is also available for streaming on Netflix.

Plot

The genre of this drama is a romantic comedy but it has thrill too. The drama shows how a scandal can ruin any celebrity’s career. Jin-shim (Yoo In-na) is a famous actress who gets caught in a scandal that leaves her jobless for two years as the industry was unwilling to get involved in any kind of scandal. They were not giving her any chance and were trying to avoid her due to this.

Finally, in an upcoming drama, she gets a chance to be the lead actress but for this, she was asked to join a law firm for some experience. She ends up joining a law firm named “ALWAYS” and becomes the secretary of Kwon Jung-rok (Lee Dong-wook) a workaholic elite lawyer. Both the leads in this drama portray a love-hate relationship. But as in every drama we see a climax scene, in this drama too it happened. The rich man comes back to get Oh Jin-shim.

OSTs

The OSTs of this drama are very pleasant and all of them are so perfectly written, two of my favourite are ‘What If love’ by Wendy and ‘Make it Count’ by Chen. These two OSTs are totally different; one is very soft and pleasant and another is a joyful and bubbly song, so you can understand the contrast between the scenes.

Some good things you will be able to get from this drama are:-

1. You can get a basic idea about law and how the law firms work.

2. You will get to see a beautiful yet thrilling story.

3. You will also come to know how sometimes the innocents are punished.

Why You Should Watch?

The chemistry between Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook in this drama was very adorable which made the drama more enjoyable. This drama is filled with scenes of comedy, romance, thrill, and the most important factor jealousy (in a cute way). Due to these factors, this drama mesmerized me a lot, I have rewatched the drama three times already and still cannot get enough of it! I also watched short clips of the drama which were memorable and iconic. This drama is 100% worth watching and also binge-worthy.

So, I suggest you all, watch this drama so that you can also experience all those beautiful things which I experienced through this drama.
