Korean cuisine is as delicious as it appears. Korea is home to a plethora of world-famous delicacies. When we think about famous Korean dishes, the first thing that springs to mind is Bulgogi, which sounds delectable. Let’s know more about this dish and find out why Bulgogi is world famous!
What is Bulgogi?
Bulgogi (불고기) means “fire meat.” One of the most well-known Korean traditional meals is Bulgogi. It’s also known as a Korean Grilled BBQ. This meal is a must-try for everyone visiting Korea. Because of its distinctive colour and authentic flavour, Bulgogi has gained popularity all over the world!
It is no surprise that it’s one of the country’s most popular culinary products. The meat is flavored with sesame and scallion, and there are ripe pears in the marinade to tenderise the meat and impart a particular sweetness.
Ingredients to make Bulgogi.
1. Flank Steak, Thinly Sliced
2. Soy Sauce
3. Garlic, Onions, Ginger
4. Sesame Seed
5. Sugar
6. Vegetable Oil
7. Gochujang
8. Pear
How to make Bulgogi?
Slice the steak into thin slices (approx 1/5 inch)
Take a bowl and mix Sesame Oil, Sugar, Pear, Garlic, Onions, Ginger, Soy Sauce and Gochujang together. (for Bulgogi Sauce/ marinade)
Then, Take a pan and put 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in it, grill the sliced steak one by one until the colour and texture of the steak changes.
Serve it with Bulgogi Sauce and Sesame seeds.
Bulgogi sauce makes this dish more delicious and attractive. Many Korean households eat Bulgogi by wrapping it with perilla leaves and along with lettuce wraps and ssamjang, pa muchim (scallion salad) is also a great accompaniment to this dish.
