Aayushi Mishra, Riya Choudhary, Vedansh Varshney (Delhi)

After the massive response from Bigg Boss, AOORA, also known as Park Min-jun, announced his first-ever meet & greet in Delhi. The event was held on February 10th at Pacific Mall, NSP-Pitampura, and was organized by Vectormob. AOORA, a multi-talented K-pop sensation who is gaining immense love in India; is known for his amazing vocal abilities, and along with this, he is a songwriter, producer, and a big fashion enthusiast. He debuted in 2011 as a member of K-pop group AA but later went solo in 2014 after the group disbanded. One of his songs Because I’m Crazy has received immense love and helped him showcase his talent as a singer & songwriter. He started exploring India by reacting to Indian songs mostly in 2022 and later his dance challenge – Cham Cham from the Bollywood movie Baaghi and a mashup of Swag se Swagat (from the movie Tiger Zinda Hai) x Blood, Sweat and Tears by BTS blew the internet as Indian fans really liked that.

Since then, AOORA has been sharing his cross-cultural love through his songs and has carved his niche in the industry captivating audiences with his unique blend of K-Pop and Indian music. This has played an important role in expanding his fanbase in India and garnering him millions of views across his social media. Apart from this, last year he also performed in a string of concerts across multiple Indian cities. He also performed as an opening act in the Quick Style’s concert in September. His major turnout was when he joined Bigg Boss in December 2023 as a wildcard contestant. He gained unconditional love for his caring and loving nature and caught everyone’s eye for frequently changing his hair colors and humble nature.

Activities and Performances

The event commenced with an electrifying performance by Prithi Lu of YellowBoiz Records Label, who mesmerised the audience with renditions of Jay Park’s hits and his own original composition. The artist’s boundless energy captivated everyone, and his impressive rap skills left a lasting impression, turning many into instant fans.

Following this, MIXDUP took the stage, delivering dynamic dance covers of popular K-pop tracks like aespa’s Drama, BLACKPINK’s Pink Venom, and Hwasa’s Chilli. Renowned for their skillful choreography, MIXDUP ensured the energy remained high, keeping the crowd enthralled and engaged.

To immerse attendees in Korean culture, two stalls offered unique experiences. Artistic Allure – Paintings by Mimi showcased vibrant artwork inspired by Indian culture, skillfully crafted by Korean painter/designer Mimi. Her pieces, brimming with vibrant colors and symbolic meanings, reflected her deep appreciation for Indian artistry.

Meanwhile, Get Your K-pop Look with Jimi provided makeovers by Korean makeup artist/stylist Jimi, also the makeup artist of AOORA. Her expertise wowed attendees, and her enthusiasm for Indian culture was evident as she interacted with guests, even expressing affection in Hindi during interviews.

The spotlight then shifted to the main attraction, AOORA. Beginning with a lively pop quiz about AOORA, the event offered lucky winners the chance to meet him and capture memorable moments. Fans’ Experience

Aayushi

“It was my first time attending the event as a part of the Hallyuism team. I was extremely nervous and excited at the same time. Finally meeting AOORA, whom I’ve followed since his debut in India, was a dream come true, thanks to Vectormob and Hallyuism. Prithi Lu’s performance was electrifying, instantly winning me over with her energy and rapping skills. Watching MIXDUP’s lively K-pop dance covers was an absolute blast. And the highlight of the event was when AOORA gave us an energetic and amazing performance, I couldn’t help myself but groove and sing along with him. I even got the chance to meet him in person and talk to him. I cannot shut up about how kind he is. This event will forever be a cherished memory.”

Riya

“I have been a huge fan of AOORA since 2022. Last year during the Quick Style’s event, with the help of team Vectormob, I got my moment to express my admiration directly to him and promised him if he ever revisits Delhi, I’ll surely be there to cheer for him. And look at the universe’s sign, this time I got the privilege to attend his meet & greet again. I was excited since the day event details dropped and have been planning everything for the D-Day. Thanks to all the cooperation of Vectormob, we had our one-of-a-kind experience while covering the event while AOORA stole our hearts with his energetic moves and his stage presence is beyond words. I sang and danced along with him when he was performing on stage. As I was just about to go on the stage, AOORA noticed me and wholeheartedly came down the stage and even sat on stage stairs while talking with me. I was so touched and humbled by his gesture. I expressed my heartfelt gratitude with all smiles and then we went up to the stage for the pictures. I gave him the banner I made and he cutely signed it.

After that I pulled out the highlight of my day – The scrapbook card I made for him showcasing the journey of falling in love with him. I wish I could express the emotions of AOORA when he was looking at it. It was beyond words and he felt so warm and emotional. He embraced the gift wholeheartedly and that’s what made everything successful. Along with this, I got to explore the stalls and interact with artists Mimi & Jimi. They were so kind & welcoming and upon my request, I got to click a picture with them. In conclusion, this event made me appreciate AOORA more. He is indeed an angel. Also, I’m thankful to Team Vectormob for the smooth functioning of the event and for giving us a memorable event by organizing/hosting this meet & greet. I’m glad to be a huge fan of AOORA and wish him the best in every endeavors.”

Vedansh

“Prior to attending this event, my knowledge of AOORA was limited to his performances on Bollywood songs and his appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss. I personally didn’t know what to expect from the meet & greet but I was ready for a new experience. I’m glad that I got the opportunity to attend the event because it was surprisingly fun and enjoyable. Apart from the energetic performances by various acts including AOORA himself, I feel that AOORA’s ability to connect with the audience justifies the love and support he receives from the Indian audience. He’s an entertaining personality and despite the language barrier, he puts in his best efforts while interacting with his fans.”

Organiser’s Experience

Sadiq Mamdani, Marketing Manager, Vectormob

“The event was an outstanding success, attracting over 1000 enthusiastic attendees who were enraptured by Aoora’s mesmerizing performance of five songs. Following the performance, the intimate meet & greet session allowed 30 lucky fans to connect with Aoora on a personal level, creating cherished memories for all involved. This event not only showcased Aoora’s immense talent but also highlighted the growing enthusiasm for K-pop in India. It was truly an honor to be part of this cultural exchange and to witness the profound connection between Aoora and his Indian fans. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity and look forward to collaborating on future endeavors that continue to promote and celebrate Korean culture in India.”

Conclusion

Overall, it’s safe to conclude that AOORA’s “Meet & Greet” event held in New Delhi was quite a success. From kids to their mothers, everyone present there was highly excited and in a cheerful mood after watching AOORA’s lively performances and fan interactions. Their expressions of contentedness were indeed reflective of their satisfaction of finally having met a personality they dearly adored. AOORA is truly an amusing entertainer with a great personality and he cares about his fans a lot. His wholesome fan interactions were undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. His surprise appearance on Bigg Boss was indeed proven to be immensely impactful in uplifting his popularity amongst the Indian crowd considering all the love and support he has been continuously receiving ever since. One could consider this meet & greet event as a “mini K-pop festival” as the audience also got to experience many exciting performances by other performers like MIXDUP and YellowBoiz Records Label as well as explore interesting stalls by painter Mimi and AOORA’s make-up artist Jimi. It served as a wonderful insight into the fascinating world of Korean culture and entertainment. We are truly honored that we got invited by Team Vector Mob to cover and attend this amazing event on behalf of Hallyuism.
