Feb 8th was a magical and mesmerizing night as SUPER JUNIOR’s member and solo singer Yesung held a concert as part of his ‘It’s Complicated Tour 2025,’ regaling fans at KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theatre in Bangkok, Thailand. It was an enchanting experience that the masses will remember forever. The concert was filled with warmth, love, incredible power, and an emotional attachment that only he could create through his dreamy-like voice and delightful presence. The tour kicked off on January 18th, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea, and continued in other parts of Asia, like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Macau.
The whole concert was designed and executed with a unique theme that revolved around “day-to-day life.” Yesung attentively formulated the flow of his songs and considered the different moods and feelings people experience throughout their lives in 24 hours. The music, combined with his heartfelt interactions with fans, created a bewitching atmosphere that the audience captured from start to end.
Yesung is a singer and songwriter who debuted in 2005 as a member of the group Super Junior. He is also a part of the sub-units Super Junior-K.R.Y. and Super Junior-H. He has participated in many OSTs, including the widely known It Has To Be You from the K-drama Cinderella’s Sister. His 1st solo album, Here I am came out on April 19, 2016. Since then, he has released 2 full-length albums, 1 repackaged album, and 7 mini-albums, both in Korean and Japanese.
He is a multi-talented artist who has experience in singing, songwriting, song composing, dancing, and acting in musicals, television series, and movies. Having appeared in many T.V. and radio shows, his stage name, Yesung, is derived from 예술가의 성대 (literal meaning: vocal cords of an artist) and can be translated as “art-like voice.” Yesung has an adorable personality, and even though he might not be very vocal about it, he deeply cares for his fans and never misses to wish them on their fandom anniversary.
Yesung’s charming aura and beautiful voice have fascinated millions of fans around the world. Despite his name and fame, he is down-to-earth and has a rooted and lovable character. This shows how much he loves his fans and that their strength and unwavering support keep him going, which has solidified his position as a singer and the internet’s favourite.
The concert had a theme of ‘day-to-day life,‘ and the flow of the songs was according to the different moods during the day. It started with energetic songs such as Small Things, Between, and Like Us. He said that when we wake up, we may not be always fresh and energetic, but we wish that today will be better than yesterday, and to match that feeling, he wanted to start with feel-good and vibrant songs. But as the day proceeds, we have to go to school or to work, and it might not always be something that we look forward to. To express that sinking feeling, he chose the next set of songs, including Scented Things, A Letter to the Wind, and It Has to Be You.
Over time, people also look forward to lunchtime and get excited for the approaching night. So, he chose songs like Beautiful Night, Eat’s Ok, and Pink Magic. He also sang My Dear – a piece he wrote for his fans to console them during their tough times. To match that intimate mood, he also serenaded fans with Parallel Lines, Easy, Bear Hug, and he also crooned the title song of his recent album, ‘It’s Complicated’. Silhouette and Slide Away appeared in the encore stage. As the concert was a mix of full songs and medleys, he was able to show some variety and difference within a short period.
His music not only made his fans gasp in awe but also left a lasting impression. Yesung made sure he maintained that whole vibe and energy in a short span with love and passion that not only transcended the boundaries of music but also the hearts that beat miles away.
It was our first time attending Yesung’s solo concert, and also our first visit to Thailand. It wasn’t a smooth journey and filled with complications! But just like his song’s lyrics, “We’ll seek out each other, ultimately. (So) I don’t care if it’s complicated!” Before the concert, we went to the airport to see him arriving in Bangkok. It was also our first time seeing a celebrity airport arrival. Though it was barely a few minutes, it felt magical and dream-like. The concert itself was so mesmerizing. It felt like we went into a trance, and didn’t even realize the time. The concert lasted for more than 2 hours, but it felt like 2 seconds. We still can’t get over the concert blues. We hope to get to see him soon, and we also hope that he and Super Junior come to India.
– Jihye & James
Both James and Jihye were two lucky fans who got to attend his concert. According to them,
The event was very well organized and timely. They gave everyone photocards and concert posters. Apart from these official items, the fans organized giveaways, where we got many unofficial goods, like stickers, photocards, griptoks, etc. We were grateful to them for giving us so many concert freebies. Before the show, there was a sound-check session, where the VIP ticket holders were allowed to see him practice before the actual concert. It was our first time attending a sound-check event, so we were pretty excited about it. He came in his regular attire and practiced a few songs with the fans. He even checked if we had done our homework (the lyrics he asked us to memorize to sing along). I guess the sound-check event lasted for 30 minutes, and then, the actual concert began.
The stage, the concert VCR, the backgrounds, the lighting, everything was amazing. They also had a live band that made the whole experience more aesthetic and artistic. Yesung’s entry, accompanied by beautiful graphics and band music, was breathtaking. The crowd went crazy and cheered a lot. The flow of the concert was very natural, intermediating between songs and his ments (comments). He had prepared some snacks from Korea, and during his performance, he distributed them to some of his lucky fans.
During the song My Dear, the Thai fanbase planned for a fan project. The fans held banners that read “If we are with Yesung, our happiness increases” and “Thank you for becoming our light”. He was touched by it and said that just like we get strength from him, he too relies on the fans, who are like stars and moon in the night sky, who always cheer him and make him happy. He sincerely thanked the fans for the unwavering support that keeps him going. For the encore stage, he sang two songs and also took photos with the audience in the background.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for Yesung’s fans. Everyone felt captivated and was entranced by his stage presence. Seeing him perform live was a surreal moment for both Jihye and James. According to them,
He definitely looks better in person. We were so lost in him that we didn’t even look at the pretty backgrounds that kept changing to match the vibes of the songs he was singing. And then, his voice!!! You have to hear his voice live, at least once in your lifetime!! His stage name, Yesung, meaning art-like voice, definitely suits him. It felt like he wasn’t just singing but delivering the lyrics and making us feel the song. On our way back, it felt so empty. It felt like everything would disappear like a dream if we slept and woke up the next morning. We kept on reliving the moment by watching the concert video clips until our eyes gave up to tiredness and exhaustion.
One of my favorite moments was when he asked if there were fans who came from far away. My sister and I shouted, “INDO” which is the Korean word for India. Then he said that he didn’t mean foreign countries, but people from Thailand who were not native to Bangkok but came for the concert. But we continued screaming “INDO”, so he looked at our side and said ok, I got it, in a mock-scolding tone, but smiling so cutely. Then, he thanked the fans for coming from far away to see him. Going on to my favorite songs, I don’t think I could pick one! I loved each song and every moment of the concert. But I would like to give special mentions to ‘It Has To Be You‘, ‘It’s Complicated‘, ‘Silhouette‘, ‘Beautiful Paradox‘, and ‘My Dear‘. These were the songs that made me jump on my seat, made me cry, and gave me comfort.

During his ending ment, Yesung talked about the concert goods and how he designed them all by himself. He knew fans would buy them anyway and that it was worth their money; he ensured it had his personal touch and special care. He also talked about how some of his concert tickets are not yet sold out in other places, so those who haven’t gotten them yet can still try.
Yesung also emphasized that Thailand is a very special place for him and other members of SUPER JUNIOR, as it was the first foreign country they visited after their debut in 2005. For his tour, this place became his first stop after Seoul, so it was even more meaningful. He thanked the band members, who made the whole concert successful. And finally, he thanked the fans and said he would return with the good energy he received from them.
For those who may not know, Yesung’s “It’s Complicated” tour will begin its remaining leg in Taipei on March 7th – 8th, followed by performances in Tokyo from April 4th to 6th, and will conclude in Kuala Lumpur on April 12, 2025.
