The Hallyu wave has taken up worldwide and made its place in the hearts of people in India, leaving an everlasting influence on entertainment, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Started as a fringe obsession but has now turned into a mainstream phenomenon in a culture that has captivated the hearts of millions of Indian K-enthusiasts. Moreover, the soul-stirring songs of K-pop, the narrative of K-dramas, and Korean culture have left a mesmerizing impact on the Indian fanbase, this phenomenon has not only influenced consumer preferences but also facilitated a stronger cross-cultural link between India and South Korea.
Amongst all the events, one recent event, the Korean Karnival 2.0 From Seoul to Gurugram, was conducted in Gurugram to celebrate Korean culture from 1st to 2nd March 2025 at Worldmark Gurugram. The event was organized by Worldmark Gurugram and ADRITH Marketing Solutions. The Karnival featured a variety of exciting activities for attendees, including the opportunity to enjoy delicious Korean food and learn about Korean glass skin care, along with beauty products and accessories. Additionally, talented artists performed live, getting the audience to groove to their beats.
The event had outstanding performances that maintained the excitement levels throughout the day, starting with the first performance by Lakshya Puri, who attracted the audience with his explosive vocal performance on ‘Watermelon Sugar’ and ‘Beggin’ by Maneskin.
Further, the stage was set on fire by the We Are EZ group dance on ‘Antifragile’ by Le Sserafim; the performance by Kritnish’s on ‘Attention’ by Charlie Puth stole the hearts of people, and ‘Stay’ by Justin Bieber was also performed. These thrilling performances left the audience cheering. Another local K-pop dance crew, Girl Crush, brightened the evening with their electrifying performances of ‘Pretty Savage’ by BLACKPINK and ‘Drama’ by Alexa.
Central to the festival was an impressive array of Korean street food stalls, each presenting authentic flavors that delighted the palate. Misoyum, a gourmet Asian restaurant, presented the audience with its delectable Corn Dog, delicious Korean Bun, and sweet and savory Korean Pizza. Bubbling was offering on-the-spot cooked ramen for people to enjoy the whole event.
K-chow offered customized hot ramen bowls to satisfy the ramen cravings of the visitors. Another attraction was the Spiral Potato stall, which is a must-try to keep you full till you enjoy the performances. Mr. Moustache Cakes satisfied everyone’s dessert desires with a diverse range of gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan chocolates, cakes, and other delectable goodies.
Korean Karnival 2.0 was a heaven for Korean cosmetic and skincare enthusiasts and provided an extensive array of options to indulge in and explore. Korikart, with its impressive packaging and quality merchandise, served a wide range of Korean beauty products, healthy drinks, and food that attracted almost every visitor.
Luxe Box offered a variety of beautiful Korean-style jewelry & accessories. KorinMi, a Korean brand in India renowned for its diverse range of products, presented visitors with a wide range of cosmetics and skincare items. Some more jewelry brands, such as Genz Lifestyle, flaunted their exquisite water-safe and anti-tarnish jewelry, while High Street Korea offered handcrafted jewelry pieces from South Korea, and Pretty Goul Style provided attendees with a diverse selection of jewelry & accessories. Moreover, Artitude Candles, featuring organic, plant-based candles infused with delightful scents, attracted a lot of customers, while Kusoo Organic also introduced a very classy range of perfumes.
Among all the highlights of the festival, the Taekwondo performance stood out as a testament to Korea’s martial arts heritage, gaining a lot of compliments from the viewers as the performance captivated the audience with its display of discipline, agility, and strength.
The taekwondo demonstration took place on the main stage of Worldmark Gurugram, strategically positioned to accommodate the growing crowd. As the sun set, the ambiance was electrified with anticipation, every individual enjoying their kind of vibe at the event, from eating delicious Korean food to playing some energetic Korean games, visitors enjoyed every bit of the event.
A skilled team of martial artists donned in crisp white costumes took place on the stage showcasing their confidence and grace, the performance began with basic forms, of poomsae showcasing the foundational movements of Taekwondo, each move was executed with precision, reflecting years of rigorous training and dedication.
As the demonstration continued, the complexity of the techniques increased. The artists executed high-flying kicks, intricate footwork, and synchronized movements that left the audience in awe. Another segment showcased board-breaking techniques, where practitioners smashed wooden boards with powerful strikes, prompting gasps and applause from the crowd.
Beyond the performances and shopping, the Korean Karnival offered interactive experiences like a sketching stall where the artist showed amazing portraits and artworks, which showed his dedication towards sketching and how he meticulously worked on every detail, ensuring accuracy and creativity in his work.
Tarot card reading has gained a lot of popularity recently, these activities added an element of personal engagement, allowing attendees to immerse themselves further into the festive atmosphere.
The Korean Karnival Edition 2.0 at Worldmark Gurugram effectively transported the essence of Korea to the heart of India, encouraging cultural interchange and mutual admiration towards Korean Culture. The festival’s numerous offerings not only entertained the visitors but also educated spectators about the complexity of Korean culture, having an indelible effect on everyone who attended.
