Ephemeral Gaze delivered an unforgettable experience for fans in Paris.

Excited fans gathered for the highly anticipated concert, Ephemeral Gaze, the first world tour by South Korean singer Taemin in Paris, supporting his fifth Korean EP, Eternal. The evening at the Zénith Paris—La Villette was quite electrifying on March 12, 2025. Taemin performed with a seamless blend of his thoughtful artistry and emotion, while his enthralling stage presence left a lasting impression on the fans across the concert hall.

A Musical Masterpiece

Taemin began the concert with “Déjà vu,” one of the songs from his latest EP, Eternal, released in 2024. He then sang “Guilty” from his previous EP. The setlist featured a mix of his iconic hits, fan-favorite classics, and most tracks from his latest album. The last two songs, “Say Less” from the album Eternal and “Danger” from Ace, his debut solo album, struck an emotional chord with fans, evoking deep nostalgia.

The musical compilation of the setlist reflected his diverse discography, highlighting his artistic evolution across multiple albums. His ability to switch from high-energy performances to raw emotional ballads showcased his enormous talent.

The Fans’ Experience

For all longtime fans, the concert was an emotional rollercoaster. The concert hall echoed with the artist’s enchanting voice, electrifying energy, and the loud cheering of his fans.

A fan named Laia Meritxell Cansado described the audience’s energy:

“At first, the audience stood a little quiet, but after ‘G.O.A.T.,’ everyone was dancing and screaming. When the music stopped during ‘Sayonara Hitori’ due to a technical issue, the crowd kept cheering and supporting Taemin until the performance resumed.”

A fan named Nova (also known as Axelle) from Rouen in Normandy, France, shared her experience:

“The concert was incredible! It felt like a musical work of art. I felt so many different emotions during the concert. His performances were well thought out, blending music and dance in the most artistic way possible.”

Unforgettable Moments

When asked about their favorite moment at the concert, Laia expressed the beauty of the fan culture that appeared throughout the concert:

“My favorite moments were when he sang ‘Sayonara Hitori.’ It is one of my favorite songs, especially when he imitated playing football because fans happily cheered for him. It looked like a football match. He interacted after each song, asking us if we liked it.”

Nova also recalled Taemin’s interaction with the audience:

“If I had a favorite moment, I think it would be the interludes and when he interacted with the audience; he was adorable and funny.”

The Best Performances

While every stage appeared breathtaking, two of the performances stood out most for the fans. “Sayonara Hitori” from his 2016 Japanese mini album left quite an impression with its stunning choreography and the emotional connection it holds with the fans. Meanwhile, the song “Move” from 2017 proved to be Taemin’s iconic track. The performance was mesmerizing with light effects and petals flying, creating a dreamlike sequence.

Nova also highlighted “IDEA,” a track from 2020, as the most memorable performance:

“For me, the best performance of the concert was ‘IDEA’ because he performed an alternative instrumental version live, and I loved it. I was impressed by ‘The Rizzness’ too!” (A track from the Guilty album released in 2024)

Highlights

Laia shared a memory of the time Taemin performed in Paris under SM TOWN in 2011. He even mentioned it during the ongoing concert, asking how many of the present fans attended the concert back in 2011. It was a nostalgic moment for him and those fans who attended during that period. They also mentioned that the fan project was a special surprise for Taemin, and he liked it a lot.

As the night progressed, the concert ended with the song “Say Less.” Taemin left the stage with a heartfelt goodbye, thanking all the fans for their unwavering support.

Nova shared about the exciting atmosphere igniting at Zénith Paris—La Villette:

“The atmosphere at the arena was crazy! Only a few artists can get entire crowds going like he does, and the French are known for knowing how to get the party started! We danced and sang with him the whole time, waving our light sticks to the rhythm. We screamed, laughed, cried, and jumped together. I think Taemin will remember the audience for a long time.”

For those who haven’t seen Taemin perform live, Nova has one piece of advice:

“I recommend going to a Taemin concert at least once in your lifetime. It’s an experience like no other.”

Through Ephemeral Gaze, Taemin proved why he deserves to be one of the most compelling artists whose music and presence leave an unforgettable mark with numerous loving memories for his fans.
