On 25th November, Barcelona witnessed the magic of K-pop as Korea Spotlight 2025, a global music showcase hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), was held. It’s a music showcase which aims & focuses to unveil the spotlight on various Korean musicians to help them expand globally. Held at Paral·lel 62 in Barcelona, the lineup included performances by K-pop artists such as CHUNG HA, Billlie, NouerA, Big Ocean, and SHAUN.
We connected with Viola Febbo from Palestrina, Roma, who is an avid fan of CHUNG HA. This article shares her shining experience of a day filled with K-pop cheers.
The event started at 6:00 PM, where fans entered the venue, and at 7:00 PM, the first set included a performance by SHAUN, where he performed his most popular song, Way Back Home, giving a ready good start to the event. After that, the next artist took the stage. Big Ocean, South Korea’s first hard-of-hearing group, made the event flow smoothly with their song Flow, followed by their newly released song, Red-Dy Set, giving the early Christmas vibes, and ended their stage with Slow. Their performance was well-received, and fans’ applause echoed in the venue.
Then NouerA’s performances on BNB (Beauty and the Best) and N.I.N (New is Now) ignited an enthusiastic response from the audience. Then Billlie brought the breathtaking energy on stage as they rocked the stage with GingaMingaYo (the strange world), Ring ma Bell (what a wonderful world), and they continued to showcase their powerful choreography through their hits flipp!ng a coin, DOMINO ~ butterfly effect, and EUNOIA. They also surprised their Spanish fans as they sang a Spanish song Ojos Tristes (with The Marías) by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. Their rendition filled the venue filled with applause and drove the crowd into a frenzy.
Finally, at the end, CHUNG HA owned the stage with her smooth, clean, and flawless performance. She was the highlight of the festival as she performed Demente, that too in the Spanish version. Everyone in the crowd was singing along with her. Then she continued with Even Steven, Snapping, and the closing song was Gotta Go by CHUNG HA, and it was fitting since that was the ending of the festival. One of the memorable moments during CHUNG HA’s set is that she noticed a few albums in the crowd and told the fans that she would sign them after the show, and she did sign a few albums. For Spanish fans, indeed, it was a crazy night, yet a memorable one.
The festival was really great, I had a lot of fun and the energy was good. A memorable moment was when at the end CHUNG HA stayed to sign some merch for the fans and she also signed my lightstick.
K-pop has solidified its presence in Europe as Korea Spotlight emerged as an highlighting international music showcase event which strengthened the cultural exchange between South Korea and Spain. The stage was illuminated with power-packed performances by artists such as CHUNG HA, Billlie, NouerA, Big Ocean, and SHAUN. They captivated the fans with their amazing vocals and polished performance skills. This year, the program toured Germany, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, and Spain. The event built a lasting K-community and opened new doors for global music showcases.

Events like this show why K-pop isn’t just hype — it’s connection, effort and real stage power. CHUNG HA signing fans’ lightsticks? That’s the kind of appreciation that stays with you. Love how Europe got to feel that energy — hope more places get the same chance.
This article is a great read because it shows K-Pop expanding in Europe. The coolest part is how Billlie covered a popular Spanish song, 'Ojos Tristes,' and the review also highlights the special inclusion of the Big Ocean performance, showing the event's amazing diversity.
Omg, Billlie singing a Spanish song with The Marías must have been iconic! And CHUNG HA performing 'Demente' in Spain? That’s literally a queen behavior moment. Madrid fans are so lucky—honestly, just imagining the crowd singing along to 'Way Back Home' with SHAUN is giving me goosebumps!

Reading this made me smile — events like these show how people everywhere are connecting through music, dance, food and just shared enjoyment of Korean culture. It’s cool to see Spain’s own twist on it, too. Makes me wonder what it would be like if something similar happened in India — would totally be there..
