The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) India Business Center (Director Young Soo Kim, Director of KOCCA India) held the “KOR-IND K-Content BizCon 2026” at the Novotel Mumbai International Airport on May 5–6, 2026. The event aimed to facilitate the entry of K-Content into the Indian market and expand bilateral cultural and business exchanges.

KOCCA India was established in December 2024 and officially opened its office in Gurugram, Haryana, in May 2025. Since then, it has maintained continuous communication with governments, associations, and companies related to the Indian AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) industry by participating in major local content markets such as “India Joy” and the “International Film Festival of India (IFFI).”

For this event, KOCCA India invited 60 Indian AVGC organizations and companies, with 46 ultimately attending. The program consisted of IP pitching sessions, where four representative companies— Atoonz, Aurora World, Live K, and SLL introduced their flagship content, generating high expectations among Indian firms.

In addition to the four pitching companies, Funny Flux, Studio Meta-K, and The Pinkfong Company participated in 1:1 export consultations, exploring collaborative business opportunities with Indian counterparts through networking receptions.

In India’s highly developed film industry, local production houses showed significant interest in Studio Meta-K’s AI-driven video content production techniques. Live K also drew attention for its high-quality immersive content, exemplified by the work Seoul Light Gwanghwamun, which utilizes cultural heritage as a backdrop.

Furthermore, Indian broadcasting distributors and production companies showed high demand for the completed series and format rights of various dramas. OTT kids’ channels and IP companies expressed strong interest in distribution and licensing for global hit animations such as “Baby Shark,” “Hello Jadoo,” “YooHoo & Friends,” and “Super Wings.”

The networking reception held on the evening of May 5 was attended by 40 Korean and Indian AVGC companies. Dong Wan Yoo, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing the necessity of reciprocal cooperation with K-Content companies for Indian firms seeking to enter the global market. Representing India, author and influencer Rashmi Bansal expressed her satisfaction with the opportunity to expand exchanges between two powerhouses in the AVGC sector.

KOCCA India distributed various promotional materials, including brochures and directory books, to help participating companies better understand the K-Content business. A demand survey conducted during the event further heightened expectations for future B2B exchange events within the year.

The two-day event featured 46 representatives Indian AVGC companies from various fields, including  JioStar, Alliance Media & Entertainment, Star Entertainment, Broadvision, SONY Yay, and Shemaroo  Entertainment. The event recorded a total of 94 business matchings and $11,410,450 million in consultation value, and a total of 5 MOUs signed for IP licensing and infrastructure cooperation through IP pitching sessions by 5 companies, marking a significant achievement in Korea-India content cooperation.

Meanwhile, KOCCA India is reportedly preparing a follow-up B2B event, “KOR-IND K-Content  BizWeek 2026,” in the second half of the year. An official stated that the upcoming event plans to invite 20 representative Korean content companies to complete a sustainable business exchange ecosystem and strengthen ties with Indian partners.

In Nam Park, Head of the Content Export Division at KOCCA, stated, “This ‘KOR-IND K-Content  BizCon 2026’ is the starting signal for reciprocal business in the content industry between both nations.  The ‘KOR-IND K-Content BizWeek 2026’ scheduled for the second half of the year will serve as a follow-up to the ‘Cooperation in Creative Cultural Industries’ agreement reached during last month’s  Korea-India Summit. KOCCA will continue to lead the way in fostering continuous communication and exchange with our Indian partners.”

“KOR-IND K-Content BizCon 2026” served as a meaningful step in strengthening creative and business ties between South Korea and India. By bringing together leading AVGC companies, creators, and industry professionals, the event provided new opportunities, collaborations, cultural exchange, as well as long-term partnerships. With growing interest in K-Content across the Indian market, the event showcased the shared enthusiasm of both industries for the future.
