K-Event Coverage: BTS ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour in Busan, South Korea

On the occasion of BTS’s 13th debut anniversary, the ‘ARIRANG World Tour’ took over Busan Asiad Main Stadium in Korea for a two-day concert on 12th and 13th June 2026. This gave BTS ARMY an exciting opportunity to watch the seven members perform together once again in their hometown, especially on their anniversary day.

​However, on the second day, 13th June 2026, the concert was not limited to the stadium; it was broadcast worldwide via live screenings, allowing overseas fans to enjoy it along with fans and the artists.

Ms. Tejasri Sai Kavali from Chennai, India, who attended the concert live in Busan, shared how mesmerizing it was to witness the seven members perform together, who shared the same dream for the past 13 years, protecting each other even though each had different styles and personalities.

Venue and Atmosphere

For BTS’s 13^th Festa celebration and the massive tour, not just the stadium but the entire city of Busan was packed with BTS events and projects. The Busan Asiad Stadium, surrounded by mountains, elevated the beauty in the background. The crowd at the venue waiting to enter buzzed with excitement. There was a special surprise prepared for fans: “Keep Swimming” bags, a thoughtful gift that contained umbrellas, raincoats, and photocards, as well as skincare products. 

Talking about the venue, Tejasri disclosed,

Korea is famously hilly, but arriving at the venue in Busan was a literal uphill battle. Jokes apart, the stadium view with the mountains in the background is incredibly cool. But as someone visiting from Chennai who isn’t used to hilly terrain, the amount of inclined walking to reach the gates was a total shock. It felt like BTS secretly considered our fitness; every single ARMY in attendance had an unexpected leg day and an inclined treadmill workout right there. Logistically, the crowd situation outside the venue was a bit frustrating, and very little time for fans to mingle beforehand. But the community spirit outside the stadium walls made up for it entirely.

The stadium, from the massive stage production to the seamless crew arrangements, made it more transcendent. Once the fans gathered together, it illuminated like a sea of glowing Army bombs in the dark. The energy inside was unmatched, showcasing a vibe of “BANGTAN GALA” because of the sheer creativity by fans. They showed up in artistry fits from a cake outfit and glowing skeleton gear to beautiful traditional Hanbok and exact recreations of Run BTS episode looks. The dedication reflected the love the BTS ARMY holds for the septet. 

​Performances

BTS ARMY was entranced as all seven members emerged from the stage wings, enveloped in smoke, while ‘Hooligan’ played in the stadium. The setlist included songs from their ARIRANG album, along with tracks from their older albums, ‘Run BTS,’ ‘Not Today,’ and ‘Mic Drop.’ The immersive lighting and visuals bridged the gap between the performance and the crowd. When ‘FIRE’ + ‘FYA’ played, the lighting design transformed the atmosphere, giving a vibe of a high-energy club party shared with thousands of other fans.

​The visual and musical transitions were breathtaking, especially the intro of ‘Body to Body,’ where all seven members unified on stage. The ultimate standout moment was the special stage featuring ‘Dimple,’ ‘Ddaeng,’ and ‘Magic Shop.‘ The hall was engulfed by the stunning visual of butterflies fluttering across the screens. During ‘Come Over,’ the crowd was completely immersed in Army bombs, creating a sensory experience. The notes of the ARIRANG track, ‘Into the Sun,’ coloured the stadium orange, making the ARMYs break down. Right after the show ended, they surprised everyone by playing a film of their younger selves from their Vlive era, talking about their future. The moment it started, every fan felt nostalgic and proud of them.

The members knew how monumental this 13th anniversary was. Their proud, happy faces showed how they adored these moments with their fans, and they didn’t want to be separated from them.

​Tejasri disclosed,

The experience of a collective vulnerability shared with people from entirely different corners of the earth. We danced together, hugged tightly, and cried as we let our hearts out during the show. The energy of the members was so therapeutic and complete; the only way I can describe the feeling of watching them interact with the crowd is like experiencing a great hair day, a perfect plate of biryani, and an ice-cold Coke all at the same time.

​BTS’s member Jin seemed a bit more serious and lost in deep thought, while SUGA was jumping around, letting all his joy out with his classic dumpling smile. They even showed their appreciation by choosing and beautifully packaging special anniversary gifts specifically for the fans in attendance.

​Seeing their journey up on that screen gave me a massive wave of motivation to keep pushing forward and manifesting better things in my own life. More than anything, seeing their dedication makes you want to show up fully in your own life and not let down the people who trust and believe in you. I had a small pat on my shoulder, saying, you did well.

Fan Experience

Tejasri Sai Kavali shares how the concert journey was one of the most incredible and unforgettable collective experiences. 

I have been in Fandom from the Life Goes On Era, my friend introduced me to a K-pop group named BTS, then during COVID-19, my sister said lots of her friends are listening to BTS, listening to their name again and again got me curious about their work, and that’s when everything started, it’s not instantly liking their work but slowly understanding them and liking them. I always feel the journey with them is like using them as a hideout, so the inner child in me never dies.

BTS is renowned for delivering a flawless, 100-percent concert experience. Sitting on the third floor of the stadium, I initially wondered how much of that magic would reach me from so far up, with my past concert experiences of other artists in India. The moment the show started, every single doubt vanished. It felt like sitting in the middle of a real-life galaxy, a reminder that no matter where you are seated, you are completely enveloped in the experience. 

The diversity of the crowd was incredible. Everyone was so confident, friendly, and welcoming. I never imagined I could make so many friends in such a short window of time. In that space, the world felt genuinely good because everyone was bonded together, completely irrespective of nationality. We danced, sang, hugged, and bawled our eyes out. At one point, I looked around and laughingly wondered, ‘Are these the same people I was just in a brutal ticketing war with?’ Being on BTS’s home ground, Busan didn’t feel like a foreign place at all; for two entire weeks, the city was completely transformed, enveloped entirely by the presence of BTS and ARMY.

On the day I didn’t have a ticket, I joined the crowds outside, singing and dancing. The stadium was near a residential area, so local grandpas, grandmas, and parents with kids in strollers came out to vibe with us. Some Japanese ARMYs shared their livestream via a mini-projector, allowing the neighbours to sit and enjoy together. It completely broke me out of my shell as an ambivert; it was an experience so uncharacteristic of me that even my parents were shocked.

The absolute truth is that HYBE and Busan were not prepared for the scale of BTS FESTA near the stadium. On June 12th, the logistical failure was impossible to ignore, with overwhelmed staff members. The transit infrastructure was under pressure, leaving the subways completely blocked with no space to walk. On June 13^th, the management was somewhat tighter.  The technical production at every level was impressive. Even from the upper floors, the view of the main stage was great, ensuring no one felt left out. Since it was a FESTA, the emotional highlights were unmatched. I will never forget the entire stadium singing ‘Happy Birthday’ while SUGA let out his signature, joyful dumpling laugh alongside his vitamin J-Hope. 

I completely lost my mind. The disbelief lasted through the first two verses of ‘Hooligan’ before my brain finally registered that it was actually happening, that they were right there in front of me. As someone who grew up deeply impacted by Michael Jackson’s legendary stage presence, I always felt he was unmatched in how he fulfilled his fans. BTS is the only act in decades that captures the same level of performance and connection with the audience. The most unforgettable emotional breakthrough happened when they began performing ‘Magic Shop.’ In that moment, a rush of some of the hardest experiences I’ve faced in my life flashed through my mind like a movie reel. 

Online streams are great, but being there in person is a completely different reality. A live concert feels like a ritual; the entire day is dedicated to the music and the community. The stadium felt like a safe space to let go of your inner anxieties and intrusive thoughts with no judgment. During the most emotional moments, people around me were literally begging for time to stop, saying they didn’t want to go back to their regular lives. 

The moment I will forever remember wasn’t just a specific song, but a profound internal realization: standing there, it felt like it was just them and me. I saw the reflection of the girl I used to be, someone who didn’t know how to have goals, who was entirely transformed and motivated by their light in the darkest of tunnels. Our journeys feel like two parallel lines moving together, standing by each other in every single moment of life. It left me with a deep, unbreakable resonance to truly love the life we are living while we are here to live it.

Conclusion

The Busan Asiad Stadium with BTS on 13th June was nothing short of incredible. The entire city displayed immense respect for the members; even the citizens fully understood the group’s historic power, and the production ensured that the Army, no matter where they sat, never felt left out. It was a powerful reminder that they started with a dream, working hard, and manifesting their goals until they reached the top, and still putting in that same effort today.

​The atmosphere in the purple ocean was remarkable until the final curtain. It was filled with raw emotions, giggling, quiet smiles, and lingering tears reflecting the momentum witnessed by their fans. The crowd, irrespective of their actual ages, was left in relief. It looked like the outside world simply ceased to exist. The space with shared emotions transcended the language barrier and became the beginning of lifelong international friendships.

​And witnessing BTS perform live was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for all the fans, regardless of the seat or floor. Every single fan who hoped and dreamed to live these moments at least once had a beautiful experience.
