This romantic Korean drama of recent times has ranked number 1 for the top Korean drama based on a webtoon. True Beauty is a genre revolving around young and energetic romantic comedy based on the webtoon of the same name. The story revolves around a high school girl named Ju-kyoung (Moon Ga-young) who is always troubled and harassed for her “ugly” face. However, with her interest in getting a makeover through YouTube, she grooms herself completely. Once she transfers to a new high school, her classmates think she is a true beauty. The only one who knows her secret is the handsome Lee Suho (Cha Eun-woo). While the Korean webtoon focused a lot on the love triangle, the drama focused more on Ju-kyoung’s school life and her relationship with Suho.
SWEET HOME

Who knew a scary webtoon could turn out so well as a drama? Sweet Home was adapted from the webtoon of the same name and also made it different from any other Korean drama. Starring Song Kang, Lee Si-young and Lee Jin-wook; it is thrilling, suspenseful, and with a slight pinch of comedy. The animated version had 140 chapters which made it fit into a perfect 10-episode Korean drama series. The story took place in an apartment complex which was called Green Home. The place had people who wanted to escape from their problems or were waiting for something that was out of their reach. The monster-like zombies brought a lot of “jump scares” but that is what made this Korean drama great!
ITAEWON CLASS

Considered to be one of the amazing Korean webtoons, Itaewon Class was written by Jo Gwang-jin. The drama is available on Netflix, and it has a famous cast Park Seo-Joon and Kim Da-mi who has starred in popular K-dramas. The drama is about a man named Park Sae-ro-yi and his friends. Sae-ro-yi lost his father to an accident caused by the son of a rich man who is the CEO of a major food service company. Therefore, he is looking for revenge by first becoming rich, and after being released from prison, he decides to make lots of money by opening a restaurant/bar in Itaewon. In the end, he becomes the CEO of a company called Itaewon Class. Both the Korean drama and webtoon did a great job of showcasing the struggles many Koreans face as they struggle to get ahead. Not forgetting the beautiful soundtrack that the drama had!
WHAT’S WRONG WITH SECRETARY KIM?

Originally a novel by Jung Kyung-yoo which was then turned into a webtoon. Later in 2018, many of the Korean webtoons were turned into Korean dramas including this one. It is one of the best Korean dramas based on a webtoon. The story is about Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-joon)who is a rich vice president at a large company in Korea. However, he has a secretary called Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young) who has worked with him for many years. However, she suddenly decides to quit her job and Young-joon wants to know why she is quitting and tries to make her stay. This Korean drama/webtoon is considered one of the best romantic comedies of all time. In addition, this Korean drama is the closest to the material when it comes to the characters in the story.
MY ID IS GANGNAM BEAUTY

This Korean webtoon really made an impact in Korea by bringing up social issues related to Korean beauty standards. In addition, the webtoon deals with not only beauty standards but also deals with insecurities and revenge. The story is about a girl (Im Soo-hyang) who is starting her university life after having plastic surgery. At the university, she meets her old childhood classmate (Cha Eun-woo) who likes her for her inner beauty. The drama is a bit more reserved and has a lot more characters than the webtoon.
Korean dramas are all the rage right now and it does not look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. Well after reading the recommendation I wondered how the readers of these webtoons feel after it turned into a drama as a bit I know when we read any story book, novel or webtoon we create a image of characters in our mind and when the same novel we read turned into a drama and the actors didn’t match with our imaginary characters it always hurtful for the readers or viewers but I must say these drama are really well directed and actors did justice with the role of characters so they get so popular like —True beauty a story of ugly girl ju-kyoung who did makeover and become a campus beauty.
What’s wrong with secretary Kim, itaewon class, and sweet home are worth watching too as they shows the perfect creativity 😉.
