The global K-pop sensation RM released his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, on May 24, 2024. Following the album’s release, the documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2024 and was released worldwide on December 5, 2024. It offered fans a raw portrayal of who Kim Nam-Joon really is.

Lee Seok-Jun, who has also been part of J-Hope‘s production for Jack In The Box, managed RPWP too. The total runtime for the documentary is one hour twenty minutes. RPWP documents the progress of Team RM’s project over an eight-month creative process leading up to the album’s release. The documentary in Indian theaters aired from January 3, 2025, to January 5, 2025, only in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. It was also released in small cities like Raipur (C.G.) as well, not just in metropolitan cities.

DOCUMENTARY OVERVIEW

PERSONAL REVIEW

The documentary’s release in Indian cinemas and watching RM on a huge screen was a wonderful and memorable experience. The documentary truly offered a unique opportunity for fans to connect with RM‘s story on a deeper level. I felt like RM was sitting beside us and sharing all his emotions and thoughts. It was a very emotional and motivational documentary that inspires us to be real and to be honest with ourselves. The calmness and authenticity of RM is always admirable. Now I feel closer to RM after watching it.

The documentary showcased his hard work, creativity, stillness, artistry, and humanity. RM’s journey is a great example for viewers to reflect on their own paths, making it a truly meaningful journey of being true to oneself. ARMYs laughed and giggled watching his clumsy acts. RPWP shows a compelling portrait of an artist navigating the complexities of life and creativity. I would say even if you’re not a BTS ARMY or simply someone seeking inspiration, this documentary is a must-watch.
