Versatile actor and singer Ok Taec-yeon recently held a fan meeting named sweeTY OKCAT’s Happy Valentine’s Day in February on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The event took place at Ilchi Art Hall on February 15 and 16, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea, and was organized by the agency 51k. Ok Taec-yeon: A Spotlight on the Star

Ok Taec-yeon, also known as Taecyeon, is a versatile South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur born on December 27, 1988, in the Gangnam District of Seoul. He is a prominent member of the renowned boy band 2PM under JYP Entertainment. A national heartthrob and global icon, he made his acting debut in 2010 with the hit K-drama Cinderella’s Stepsister. Since then, he has showcased his prowess across various genres and popular shows like Dream High, Bring It On, Ghost, The Game: Towards Zero, Blind, Heartbeat, and the widely acclaimed series Vincenzo, where he captivated audiences and drew in millions of viewers.

Apart from his roles in Kdramas, Taecyeon recently starred in the Japanese film La Grande Maison Paris, portraying a talented Korean-Canadian pastry chef responsible for creating exquisite desserts. The movie premiered on December 30th, 2024, highlighting his charms once again as an actor.

Joyful Moments With Fans

As we know, he is known for being a mood uplifter. His jovial personality can surely sweep away your worries and lift your spirit, which he showed during the event. Whilst interacting with his fans, Taecyeon became playful and acted like he was doing makeup and immediately danced to a funny tune while donning a rabbit ear headband. He also set the stage on fire by showing his killer dance moves. Taecyeon always knows how to make his fans joyful and give them so many cute, memorable moments. One of his lucky fangirls got a chance to take a selfie with him, and he also gave her an instant autograph. If this was not enough, Taecyeon also overwhelmed the masses by going amidst them and sharing his love, gratitude, and feelings he has and made them happy.

Fortunate Fangirl Who Scored a Hat Trick

Ten Olya, Taecyeon’s fan, shared her experience of meeting him this year as well. Previously, she attended his fan meets in the years 2022 and 2023, and precisely, she never missed any of his shows when in Korea.

Back then when I was living in Kazakhstan, I accidentally came across the clip from Kdrama ‘Wonderful Days.’ At that time I wasn’t a fan but liked the actor very much. Now years later when I moved to Korea, I decided to watch ‘Vincenzo’ and that’s when Ok Taecyeon caught my attention while he played the role of a villain, even though he didn’t seem one at first. Then I looked up for more information about him and found out that he started as an idol and also worked in Kdramas side by side. So I listened to the songs of 2pm, became their fan, and chose Taecyeon as my bias.

She also shared a throwback video of her first fan meet, when he came near her and surprised her all of a sudden.

Whole Fanmeet Experience

Ten became a fan of Ok Taecyeon in the summer of 2022. In the same year, in November, she found out about an upcoming fan meet happening in December but wasn’t sure if she should attend it or not as there was a language barrier, and she hadn’t been to Seoul before. She had only been in Korea for six months, but her first proper fan meeting was in December.

I was lucky to get a seat in the front row and got a chance to see him upclose and I didn’t expect him to come up like that. He was so tall and handsome in reality. After that I bought the tickets for the following Christmas OKCAT fan meetings. I also managed to get tickets for 2PM’s concert, marking their 15th anniversary. It was incredible and I connected with their emotions and state so well.

She shared that, the first day when she attended the fan meeting, he walked down from the stage and stopped right next to her (fan moment right reader’s), she was in shock, seeing him so close and later when he handed out gifts to all the fans after the performance, it was mesmerizing.

Another special moment happened in December 2023; he asked fans from which country they traveled, and when Ten said she was from Kazakhstan, he was so surprised and grateful that people came from this far to attend his fan meeting, so he thanked her first in English, then in Korean. Later, he asked her which language he should speak to her, and she replied Russian, so he immediately said, “Спасибо!” in Russian, which means thank you. That was a great memory for her.

We asked her if she found any difference in his personality as the years passed.

She replied,

He only gets beautiful over the years and ages like a fine wine. He’s so good-looking up close as he seems from far away.

Significance of Idols To Fans

Ten Olya shared that she managed to buy two tickets, though she was only able to attend one event.

That year, I lost my mother after a long illness. After arriving in Korea, I spent almost all my time in the hospital by her side. In November 2022, she passed away. I decided to attend the December event to distract myself- it was a way to pullout my mind from the state of depression after my mother’s loss.

She stated that the day truly made her happy when she saw other fans and mainly Taecyeon in person. Even though she barely understood what was said on the stage, she was just happy to see them, watching him interact with other fans and joke around – it was such a special experience. 

Special Moments As A Fan

Ten took part in coffee support with other fans and contributed to the collections made for his birthday; a fan organized all these events, and others tried not to miss it and made donations, including her. After that, she made banners with all the names of the participants, and Taecyeon posted all of them on his Instagram stories. The woman who organized won a lottery and got clicked with him. It was mesmerizing for them to see their names in his story, and they felt grateful. Ten was also very happy to see her name popping up in his SNS.

Taecyeon’s Heartfelt Connection with Oktizen’s

In Korea, artists do everything for their fans. Similarly, Taecyeon tries to interact with his fans as much as possible, whether it is through fan meets, concerts, etc. There was so much laughter and joking at the event; sometimes, he even gets shy during fan meets because fans request him to the point where his ears turn red, and people find it cute.  There is a lottery and gift system for the fans to show gratitude towards them. At the end of each show, he hands out gifts at the exit and says, ‘Thank you, everyone, for coming, go safely.’ These words truly make his fans happy.

Attending his fan meet was a great experience for fans all over the world as every fan, including Ten Olya, shared a different story about how they got to know about Ok Taecyeon. But amidst all, one thing in common is how much he means to all of them. His genuine interaction and affection for his fans created an unforgettable atmosphere. Many expressed their gratitude, feeling inspired by his journey and dedication to his craft. This memorable event highlighted the bond that transcends borders and unites fans globally.
