K-blossom for all South Korean enthusiasts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. On April 5, 2025, the K-Blossom Festival was organised at the Hebbal Social in Bengaluru. The awaited summer K-event started around 12:30 pm and carried into the night. The place was alive with music, dancing, and pure joy. People truly felt the day’s vibe, making memories, and by the end of it, everyone left with tired feet and the happiest smiles. The event was organised by @blrgrooveco (Instagram). They promised a day filled with amazing performances, cosplays, activities, workshops, exciting games, and even an after-party to end the day, like a cherry on top. And boy, they did not fail to deliver!

The Best Bits 

The K-Blossom Festival had planned many exciting events on its agenda. With an array of thrilling things to be done and explored, like the flea market, where creative entrepreneurs and small business owners had some amazing stalls of South Korean goodies, K-Pop merch, and many more souvenirs. Many handmade gifts, keychains, and woven plushies were also sold at the booths. There was even a nail-art stall, which had all the girls lined up!

HOW IT HAPPENED

The event began with a basic Korean language and etiquette workshop by the Korean Sejong Institute (Bengaluru), which was also the cultural partner of the festival, where they even taught some fun Korean phrases and gestures. A very detailed lecture on Hangeul was given by the instructor on how it was derived and how it is written. Attendees also got to learn how to write hangeul and even made their own bookmarks.

Attendees also got the chance to dress up in traditional Korean outfits—hanboks. That’s not all! Accessories were also a part of the hanbok dress-up. People loved the dress-up and took a lot of photographs. They also had beautiful hand fans to complete the Korean traditional era look. There were only happy faces all along the Hanbok Dress-Up session as K-Drama lovers got to live their dream of wearing the traditional Korean Hanbok.

The Workshop by Zero Sum was thrilling. They taught the choreography to the latest, most trending song, Like Jennie by Jennie. Although not everybody can dance, the dance instructors were very supportive and patient while teaching everyone the choreography step by step, which was very kind of them. They had everybody groove to the music, making the event more cherished and memorable.

Next, on the agenda was an icebreaker activity, which was planned to make strangers talk through this quirky little game. Ironically, it wasn’t even needed, as people had already broken the ice and made new friends before it started. Still, they liked the interactions and made new friends. The question-and-answer game was very insightful and made the atmosphere competitive. People were very eager to guess the answer, and the excitement was seen through their loud cheers.

Then came other performances by singers and dancers, and it was superb. There were performances of songs by Twice, BTS, Blackpink, Straykids’, IU, and many more K-Pop sensations. Such young and talented people with so much energy and passion. There was an amazing set list for the program with performances by talented individuals. Harika had everybody nodding their heads to her amazing version of Daechwita. Ekta sang beautifully too, especially IU’s song! People couldn’t get enough of Neha’s melodious voice; the Goblin OST was done justice. The Harini Duo also had some amazing songs, which made the crowd sing along with them.

The dancers left no crumbs, either. Harini dancing to 10 Minutes by Lee Hyori made everyone hold their breaths. Keerthi and Harinmayi performed Twice’s songs. Shreya gave the most power-packed performance on songs with an energy that nobody could match. Srishti’s playful version of Boy With Luv by BTS was also cheered for by the enthusiastic crowd. Of all the female performers, there was one male performer who did not just come to watch but to deliver; it was Mayur. It was just mind-blowing. It was great to such an extent that people ended up joining and dancing along. It was very well received and helped everyone to just live in the moment.

The Last Sparkle

The event ended on a most explosive note in which people just requested their favorite songs and everyone just gathered in the dance area and put on a show. It was so cute watching everyone struggle with the moves. Some surprised me with what they could pull off. It was messy, loud, and energetic. 

Festival Recap

The K-blossom festival wasn’t just an event. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, community, and connection. I felt so overwhelmed in the best way. Everything that happened just filled the space with so much energy and positivity. I still can’t get over it. The organizers were incredibly kind and supportive, which made everything run so smoothly. I left with a full heart and a playlist running on repeat in my head. I am looking forward to more and more events and can’t wait to bring more from my end and give the crowd something to think about. – Poras Singh

The event was well curated . Right from games , fun activities, hanbok trials, and performances. The event gave a glimpse of Korean culture and how much it is being appreciated here . We got to interact with so many people and performers, we made such really good memories, and we were enjoying every moment of the event. Since it was an almost whole-day event, it covered all we could have asked for. I went to other events as well where we sing , dance together , play some fun games and activities, and get a lot of freebies and exchange photocards, so it feels so overwhelming, and we always look forward to more of these events and experience a mini Korea here in Bangalore. – Srishti Sudhi
