On the 13th of April, K-pop fans gathered for a day that felt like a dream for all K-lovers as Hallyuism completed its 5th year of promoting and conducting K-pop and K-culture events in India and spreading the word regarding language, culture, etc. On this special occasion, Hallyuism made its grand return with another fun-filled event with live music, dance, games, and lovely people around the event, organized by the Korean Culture India Fanclub at the Auro Kitchen and Bar, Hauz Khas, bringing a fun-filled space for all the fans and people alike. After conducting a successful event on February 2nd this year, this was the cherry on top, with another K-pop event on the cards, which once again was filled with lots of good memories of K-culture and its larger-than-life presence in India.

Performances

The event showcased a vibrant lineup of performances that kept the audience captivated from start to end, starting with Cool Kids, a trio of young talented dancers, who amazed everyone with their performance on ‘APT,’ lighting up the stage with another solo dancer, Neha, who performed on ‘Bad news (Mona Lisa)’ by Jack Harris and ‘Money’ by LISA. Dev stunned everyone with his amazing vocals by performing on the famous Japanese track ‘Shinunoga E-Wa’ by Fuji Kaze and the English pop song ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber. Dorothy mesmerized the crowd with her cover of ‘Ma Boy’ by Sistar19, followed up by another talented group, F4fantasy, who performed on Antifragile’ by LE SSERAFIM, owning the stage. Meenakshi showed her moves on the dance cover ‘Maniac’ and ‘Venom’ by Stray Kids, earning a roar from the crowd.

Fun, Games, & K-Vibes

The event also included games in Squid game – style like ‘Ringa Ringa’ and ‘ddachi,’ which had everyone laughing and gave that all-over fun event vibes, followed by the most awaited moment Random Dance Play, where everyone stepped confidently into the spotlight, dancing to hit songs like ‘Solo’ by Jennie, ‘Air’ by Yeji, ‘How You Like That’ by BLACKPINK, ‘Dalla Dalla’ by ITZY, ‘Boom’ by NCT, and many more songs like Love Dive, Earthquake, Hot, Like Jennie, Sheesh, not to forget the most awaited song of the evening ‘Mona Lisa’ by J- Hope. Later, the crowd even took over the DJ booth, vibing to the nostalgic mix of 2nd and 3rd-generation K-pop songs that had the whole room tripping to these decade-old hits.

Then came the most wholesome part of the day with a cake-cutting ceremony, which marked the birthday celebration of our long-standing contributor and editor-in-chief of the Hallyuism family, Ms. Jasmine Khan, who worked hard in promoting the community all these years and played a pivotal role in making it what it is today.

Following the celebration, the event shimmered in excitement with stalls like the Bangtan Bell Store, The Bangtan Stuff, & Charmery, etc. These stalls stole the show with their eye-catching collections of K-pop merchandise and trendy jewelry. Fans were especially stunned by the wide variety of the collections—from fan-made goodies to official merch and praised the stalls for offering everything at an incredibly reasonable price. They were among the top highlights of the event, leaving fans with many shopping bags.

Fans also got their hands on by making their K-pop bias name with beads and strings, which was indeed a fun and engaging activity held by the team. The stalls also added charm to the event, offering K-pop goodies and merchandise like idols’ photocards, official albums, fan-made merchandise, and many more creative items. People praised the quality and added that it made their experience more memorable.

Crowd

The crowd was full of life and energy throughout the day, hyping up every performance and cheering on each other during the game session. Many people described the event as astonishing, lively, joyful, and most importantly, well-organized, packed with everything that a K-pop fan could ever ask for.

One of the attendees quipped about the event, stating,

It was an event full of positive energy – performances, games, and good vibes everywhere.

Another was full of praise as well, describing her day and time.

I liked the whole vibe of the event although I only loved BTS songs but still enjoyed the event to the fullest due to the crowd as the fans were so engaging. Favorite moments ranged from the stage acts to the cake- cutting ceremony and even goodies from the stalls, a perfect blend of hype, laughter and fan love.

Conclusion

Looking back, behind the scenes, it was Ms. Prerna Tiwari, who is not only a passionate host but also someone who respects everyone and has immense love for Korean culture. She not only brought the event to life but also gave fans a space to enjoy the music they love to hop on. With the growing enthusiasm from the community and the love poured into every detail of the event, Hallyuism feels more like a home for every K-pop fan and is a sacred space for K-culture and music lovers who wish to do something outside their comfort zone without any prejudice.

It was more than just an event. It was a beautiful memory created on canvas painted by friends who became family with good vibes, celebrating the occasion wholeheartedly with everything that a K-pop lover adores and cherishes the most.
