In a lively celebration of BTS’s 12th anniversary and their long-awaited reunion that ARMYs have eagerly anticipated, following their completion of mandatory military service, the BTS Bengal ARMYs hosted a heartfelt fan event on 22 June that united ARMYs of all ages for a day of nostalgia, connection, and music.

Back in 2010, K-pop was still almost unknown in India. Kinkini Dasgupta, a dancer at heart, was casually scrolling through YouTube looking for choreography videos when she came across a catchy performance, Super Junior’s Sorry, Sorry.

“I was just looking for dance inspiration,” she recalls, “but that video pulled me into a whole new world.”

That one click led her to discover the energy, style, and emotion of K-pop. She quickly became a fan of second-gen groups like SHINee and Super Junior. But it was in 2017, when BTS won their first Billboard Music Award, that shifted everything.

“That moment made me look deeper into BTS, their music, their story, and their message. It was something else entirely.”

And soon, her solo journey turned into something bigger, as she connected with other fans from her state and online community.

Fast forward to 2023, BTS Bengal ARMYs continued to stay active both online and at on-ground events, organising small-scale screenings since 2018 and online events even during the COVID-19 lockdown. But this year felt different, as all seven BTS members reunited on June 21^st, it felt like the stars had aligned.

“It just felt right to celebrate on June 22nd,” said Kinkini.

On June 22nd, 2025, that shared love between BTS and ARMYs came to life at a special celebration organised by BTS Bengal ARMYs, a fan-led community run by Kinkini, founder, and her dedicated team, including lead admin Titir Mukherjee.

All About the Event

Held in Kolkata, the event brought together ARMYs of all ages, from teens, college students, working adults, and even families. There were buzzing stalls, a fun photo booth with life-size BTS cutouts (plus instant photo prints), and beautifully curated goodie bags filled with official BTS photocards.

“We wanted to make fans feel special; they deserved it,” added the admin.

The highlight of the event was the screening of BTS’s “Yet to Come” in the Busan concert. As the lights dimmed and the opening chords played, the crowd came alive, singing, cheering, and tearing up to iconic performances like Mic Drop, Run BTS, Ma City, Dynamite, Save Me, and UGH!

The atmosphere was vibrant yet deeply emotional, as fans enjoyed the live screening and a range of fun activities, from merch stalls to photo booths. They purchased their favourite merchandise and immersed themselves in the overall vibe of the event.

The event wasn’t just about music. It was about the people, the community, who came together to celebrate a bond that transcends distance. From virtual events during COVID to small screenings in the past, the BTS Bengal ARMYs has always stayed connected. But this event felt like a full-circle moment.

With the promise of even more innovative and exciting fan projects next year, the organisation is ready to organise more events for the fans, and judging by the joy, laughter, and unity that filled the room that day, the ARMY spirit in Bengal is only getting stronger.
