I am sure all K-drama lovers have either watched or heard about Strong Girl Bong-soon (힘쎈여자 도봉순) — but having said that, did you notice that In-soo also plays a role? Although filling in a supporting role, In-soo doesn’t fall short of showcasing his acting skills. Playing the role of a school bully who is classed by Park Bo-young’s character, Do Bong-soon, his personality takes a turn and makes him a loyal disciple of Bong-soon.

The actor’s comedic prowess is on full display as Kang-goo, turning what could have been a typical lackey role into a scene-stealing performance. In this historical fantasy drama, his character is a breath of fresh air, encapsulating charisma and wit. His chemistry with the rest of the cast is impeccable, especially with Jin Cho-yeon, played by Arin. With modern Hanboks, trendy accessories, and fashionable hairstyles, one cannot help but fall for his swoon-worthy visuals in this drama series. 

Unlike Season 1, where his character is happy-go-lucky, Season 2 showcases a more nuanced portrayal of his character with an essence of depth and gravity. 

The Good Bad Mother

In The Good Bad Mother (나쁜엄마), he portrays the notorious country bumpkin, Bang Sam-sik. He is hilarious in his conduct and known for getting himself into trouble. In love with Mi-joo, played by Ahn Eun-ji, since childhood, he suffers the pangs of disappointment when he loses her to Lee Do-hyun’s character Kang-ho.

Though he seems like a troublemaker, but is actually a good person. Yoo In-soo’s character adds comic relief to the weary plotline and becomes a helping hand to the female lead in times of distress. 

All of Us Are Dead

A change from his usual witty characterisations, In-soo in All of Us Are Dead (지금 우리 학교는) plays the role of a zombie villain, Yoon Gwi-nam. His range of acting in this drama is incredibly dark and captivating. He outshone his role to a great extent, wherein the audience was thrilled by the new dimension that he brought about in his prolific acting.

Having one eye for most of his part in the series, he expertly focused on the movements of it to and used it bring alive the emotions of his character. And made people fall for the main antagonist even amid a zombie apocalypse. This role was a breakthrough for him and opened various opportunities.

Zombies, meet your match! Gwi-nam doesn’t just survive the apocalypse; he thrives in it. The actor’s performance adds a human touch to the undead chaos, making us root for his survival as much as we root for him to deliver another killer quip. Who knew a zombie thriller could be this much fun?

The Uncanny Counter 2

The Uncanny Counter 2 (경이로운 소문 2) is an action-packed drama with a gripping storyline. A group of paranormal hunters with supernatural powers known as Counters works hard to save the world from the evil spirits that escaped the afterlife, and in the 2nd Season, a naive country boy, Na Jeok-bong, played by Yoo In-soo, becomes the new Counter following an unfortunate accident.

He finds himself doing the unthinkable, saving the world by fighting evil, and being a simpleton farmer, he finds himself at odds with his new vocation. However, he plays his character exceptionally well with impressive comic timing and humour that will leave your belly aching.
