K-Event Coverage: Big Ocean Winter Concert – HEARTSIGN in PARIS 2025

Writers: Riya Choudhary (Delhi, India) & Sabrina Soogrim (Paris, France)

Editor: Prachi Vaid (Delhi, India)

Big Ocean, the first hard-of-hearing South Korean group, held their Winter Concert, HEARTSIGN, in Paris, France, on Dec 7, 2025. It was an immersive show with the additional title,When Hands Sing, Hearts Answer, delivering a strong message that music can unite hearts, even in silence. The Bataclan venue, sadly known for celebrating its 10th anniversary of a terrorist attack this year, was filled with love and laughter again, making it a perfect, magical night to end the year.

Parastar Entertainment and Keystone organized the event. French K-pop girl group STARSEED’Z and K-pop dance cover crew RISINwere also invited on the stage, who delivered great performances.

RISIN’ K-pop crew is quite famous in France. They are known as a leading K-pop dance cover group within the K-pop community, and are also gaining recognition beyond French borders. They have opened major K-pop concerts in the past, such as Jessi’s concert, participated in Japan Expo’s Stage, and won a special prize in the World of Dance competition, resulting in a dance performance with the artist B.I himself.

As for STARSEED’Z, it is a 4-member French girl group that made its debut in October 2023. Mostly inspired by the K-pop genre, they are well-known for fusing French elements in their international music. They perfectly warmed up the audience by performing trendy songs to open the concert. So when the 3 members of Big Ocean came up on stage, the whole room was already on fire. A rendezvous that both PADOS and the group were looking forward to.

HEARTSIGN: WHEN HANDS SING, HEARTS ANSWER

Big Ocean opened the HEARTSIGN concert with their now-famous track, BrighT, which lit up all the hearts in the audience and set the atmosphere for a great evening ahead. What the audience didn’t know before stepping into the venue was that they were not only there to watch a concert; they were in for a whole journey of sharing and participating alongside the members, which made this concert a one-of-a-kind event. When the show opened, they surprised the audience with a rain of candies, a cute way to remind us that Christmas is all about giving and sharing.

HEARTSIGN tour setlists featured their signature tracks: Glow, Flow, Attention, and Blow, along with emotive songs such as Sinking, Fade Out, and BrighT, as mentioned earlier. French PADOS performed on the Bucket Hat stage with PJ and Jiseok. They ended the show by throwing their bucket hats into the audience. While performing, the boys continued to gift candies from time to time to PADOS.

Big Ocean performed all their songs, from their debut songs to the latest, a Christmas special, RED-DY SET GO! Each song set a different atmosphere from lighting to costume, even make-up, and changing hairstyle from one song to another. They prepared many surprises, such as heartwarming fan service moments right in the middle of the concert.

Because Paris holds a special place in Big Ocean’s heart, being their very first stage, when they debuted last October 2024, they wanted to offer something special to their French audience; therefore, they performed a thoughtfully curated medley of French songs, only sung in international sign language. This definitely made French PADOS feel unique and appreciated.

Two lucky fans were brought on stage to play some games and share some sweet and intimate moments with the boys. Big Ocean showed that they were ready to move beyond their cute image and embrace a more mature, charming side, leaving the entire crowd amazed.

Another main event during the concert was the “Best Christmas Outfit Award”. At the end of the show, 3 lucky fans were selected and won a snapshot with the group. One of the winners designed her Christmas costume, taking up to 70 hours to complete it. She really deserved her win for such dedication!

They closed the show with an adorable surprise, where the 3 members were all dressed as Christmas trees and performed the famous “Last Christmas” song of Wham! and continued with their own Christmas song, RED-DY SET GO! dressed as Santa Claus. The fans were thrilled because, in addition to looking adorable, they chose the seductive Santa Claus version. This surprise left everyone in wonder and was highly appreciated by the audience. That was an unexpected turn of events.

Big Ocean decided to perform the cover of Goblin’s OST “Stay with me,” which they had performed on their debut stage in Paris in October 2024, to cap off the performance and leave a lasting impression of this wonderful evening. This undoubtedly caught everyone’s interest.

SABRINA SOOGRIM’S JOYFUL EXPERIENCE

This was not just a concert, but a statement: art. In Big Ocean’s hands, they have the power to surpass the senses and create genuine communion between artist and audience. I’ve attended several concerts, as well as many K-pop shows over the past two years, ranging from major acts to emerging artists. Yet this performance stood apart as one of the most emotionally powerful concerts I have ever experienced. I absolutely loved it when PJ went down to dance in the crowd and when PJ and Chanyeon appeared suddenly out of nowhere in the audience with cute messages on a paper, just like in the movie, Love Actually.

The fan service was also very surprising and entertaining to watch! All flirty and joyful interactions with fans are so rare nowadays. I absolutely love that Big Ocean’s connection with their audience is unmistakably sincere, and what they offer goes far beyond music alone. Through their words and presence, they share messages of hope and encouragement, reminding us that if they can stand before us today, then we, too, can dare to turn our own dreams into reality.

Big Ocean’s appearance went far beyond a standard concert, illustrating how music can transcend the senses, how disability should not prevent anyone from dreaming and performing. What was a mere bet became history that night. I am pretty sure they gained even more fans that night.

A MEMORY TO CHERISH

Bataclan in Paris, France, witnessed a night to remember, full of love, tenderness, laughter, excitement, and some charming moments too. They even had the dress code as a Christmas Ornament for attending PADOS. The group, Big Ocean, brought the warmest hugs to French PADOS through this concert in Paris in the winter season. Both the group and the audience will cherish this moment for a long time.
