My K-Drama journey began with the highly popular Descendants of the Sun that aired in 2016. Starring Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo in the lead, the 16-episode series garnered attention and praise upon its release. It was my friend who suggested watching the drama but declared upfront, “You will love this show, but Yoo Shi-jin (the character played by Song Joong-ki) is mine.” At that time, I brushed off the claim with a nonchalant, “Yeah, whatever.
