Ms. Sapna Kaur (Winner)

It was a great experience. I didn’t expect to win the Regional Round. I did my best, but all the other participants performed so well. Some of them are amazing at dancing. When the winners were being announced, I was hoping that maybe I’ll be the Second Runner-up, but it wasn’t my name. So, I thought I’ll try next year again. And then suddenly, Sushil sir announced my name as the winner, and I was so shocked! I couldn’t believe it and replayed it 2-3 times. I started crying! I’m so happy and grateful to each and everyone who always helped me and believed in me. And, I’m so excited for the finale. This has been a great achievement in my dance journey. Thank you!

Ms. Yashashvi Deshwal (First Runner-up)

Hello, I am Yashashvi Deshwal. I participated in the Dehradun Regional Round of the K-Pop India Contest 2020, and I was the First Runner-up! I am thankful to the Korean Cultural Centre India and the Dehradun Korean Culture Fanclub for organising this competition during the lockdown period. It’s highly commendable! This was truly something different! Last year, when we performed on the stage with a huge audience, we felt so much energy. However this time, it was all virtual. I was really anxious and wondered how things would work out because we had to do many things on our own including the setup, so that was challenging, but it worked out well. I couldn’t even think of winning something big like this during the lockdown period, and surely, this made me delighted. A big thanks to all the organisers, who were really committed and worked diligently so that everything functioned well. It also diverted our minds from the current situation, and we enjoyed it so much! It was fun. Thank you so much.

Ms. Shruti (Second Runner-up)

I’m Shruti (Strivein Fizz). The journey was amazing! I was waiting for this contest to happen again in Dehradun, and it did! Starting with the audition round, I seriously started practicing for the auditions like crazy. I practiced all day long.  Then, the day when I got selected for the Regional Round, I was so excited because there were so many great dancers, and I got a chance to compete with them. I gave my best for the regional. I worked so hard for this! When I saw that I had secured the third position, I was so shocked. I’m proud of myself, and the only thing that I got to know was that hard work never fails. Work as hard as you can, and it’ll lead to success. Never lose hope even if everything’s going wrong. Never give up and work hard. You should participate in this contest because it’s worth it. So, I had a great experience, and I’m so happy with the outcome. Thank you!

Ms. Passang Dolma (Winner)

It was an amazing experience – from participating in the Online Round to winning the Regional Round of the K-Pop India Contest 2020. I was anxious about how everything would take place during this tough situation, but looking at the efforts of KCCI and our regional organisers, I was relieved. Everyone was so good and competitive. It was a new experience for all of us who got to perform from our comfort zone – our home. I am thankful to everyone who made this year’s contest happen even in such a difficult time.

Ms. Diksha Gurung (First Runner-up)

I feel fortunate to get this opportunity. It means a lot! Thanks to KCCI for organising this contest. Hallyu is becoming more known to the Indian crowd, and I’m honoured to be a part of it. I got to know new people and learn from them. Honestly, when I saw their performances, I felt anxious because all the contestants were so great. I thought that I wouldn’t hold any chance. But, well, always expect the unexpected. I got second place, so I’ll not be able to perform in the finale. I still feel bad about it, but I’ll try again. Fighting!!

Ms. Aanubhuti (Second Runner-up)

Annyeonghaseyo! I’m Aanubhuti. I recently took part in the K-Pop India Contest organised by the Korean Cultural Centre India. It was a great competition. I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and found one article on this. I was interested in it because K-Pop was something new to me, and I had to learn the lyrics and pronunciation. I took part in it, and in the end, I secured the second runner-up position. I would like to thank everyone out there who supported me and also the Dehradun Korean Culture Fanclub, which has always been a source of motivation for the people who love K-Pop. Thank you!

Regional Organiser: Dehradun Korean Culture Fanclub

Ms. Vaishali Garbyal

It’s our second time organizing the Regional Round. Last year was our first-time experience but on zero ground. However this year, for around 2-3 months, we were in a state of chaos, always wondering, ‘How would we do this?’ and ‘And through what?’ Finally, we came out with the plan of organising the Regional Round online. From looking after the promotion to organising the Regional Round, it was good. I won’t say it was the best, but yes, it was unforgettable! It was unforgettable for me, our team, and everyone who participated at all the different levels. Also, our talented participants, who never stopped trying, practicing and participating. That courage makes us feel the best, and we are proud.

We miss the Regional Round conducted last year so much and also the whole team. We’re looking forward to more happiness, good competition, and support. Fighting!
