Misha Bharti, Delhi: The time when the fans groove to the tunes of the hit K-Pop songs finally arrived in Delhi with the Regional Round of the K-Pop India Contest 2020 being held on July 31. A much-awaited event, it saw fans from all over the country tuning into Instagram to watch the performances of the participants.
Riya Chaudhary, Delhi: K-Pop or Korean Pop is a music genre that originated in South Korea. It consists of a variety of popular music styles that covers mostly dance-pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc. In India, the spread of Korean Wave, also known as Hallyu Wave, began in the early 2000s in the North East region and now it is spreading rapidly all over the country. By the persistent efforts of Korean Cultural Centre India, K-pop has marked its popularity and success in India through K-POP INDIA CONTEST, which takes place every year since 2013.
Archana Goswami, Delhi: I always wanted to attend a K-event at KCCI (Korean Cultural Center of India), Delhi, ever since I got interested in the Korean Culture through K-pop and K-dramas. Last year, I finally got the chance to be a part of an event at KCCI. The admin of Korean Culture India Fan Club, Ms. Prerna Tiwari organised a birthday celebration event for BTS members Kim Seok-jin and Kim Tae-hyung on December 29, 2019. I will forever be grateful to her for organising this event and giving all of us a memorable experience of a lifetime. Around 130 fans attended this event!
