Tahoora Charfare, Pune Maharashtra

Want a well-equipped room for your stay in Seoul but scared of the high rates of accommodation? Then Goshiwons are the right option for you!

Goshiwon is an affordable rental accommodation for students and tourists in South Korea. Goshiwons have small furnished rooms that come with essentials such as desks, beds, small fridges, bathrooms, and sometimes, a T.V. There are also many other benefits that Goshiwons provide and one of them is Goshiwon food! It includes free water, rice, eggs, and kimchi. Goshiwons are also referred to as ‘off-campus dormitories’ as they were originally made as a place to study for students during their examinations. However, a large variety of people now use Goshiwons as a residence as they provide an independent means of living.

Goshiwons in Seoul are easily accessible. It can be pre-booked online as well as offline. There are many online websites that allow you to look for a Goshiwon in your desired location. Most of the Goshiwons are usually located near universities such as Hongik University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, etc. as it is convenient for foreign students studying in South Korea. Since Seoul is one of the biggest tourist attractions in South Korea, you can find Goshiwons almost everywhere. The process is quite easy. Goshiwons have a friendly environment and are budget-friendly, starting from 15,000 KRW per night. That is the cheapest price you get and your best bet if you are a tourist looking for a night stay. However, not many Goshiwons accept single-night stays, but there are a few that do. Goshiwon prices vary from 25,000 KRW to over 50,000 KRW depending on the location. The busier the location, the higher the prices. Also, the quality of the facilities provided additionally contributes to the price. The cheapest Goshiwon rent could be 250,000 KRW (15,000 INR) for a month, and the average is 350,000 – 400,000 KRW (20,000 to 30,000 INR). More options are also available for even lower prices. They also allow you to pay per day which is the best way to save money while traveling.

Before traveling, we tend to look for housing or a place to stay and it is necessary to have some prior information regarding it. In Seoul, housing requires a heavy deposit and it is necessary to pay for housing contracts which vary from one year to four years or even more. This is where Goshiwons act as money and time savers. If you stay at a Goshiwon, you won’t have to worry about the contract or need to pay a heavy deposit. So, if you are traveling or planning to study or work in South Korea and if you are on a budget, then you can book yourself a Goshiwon and enjoy your stay without having to worry about expensive hotel bills, housing deposits, or studio rents.
