Picking from where Season 1 ended
Shim Su-ryeon’s (Lee Ji-ah) tragic death in season 1 left the viewers cliff hanging for what will happen to Joo Dan-tae (Uhm Ki-joon), and Oh Yoon-hee (Eugene). After successfully framing Oh Yoon-hee for Shim Su-ryeon’s death, Joo Dan-tae and Cheon Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon) decide to get married.
This season concentrates on Oh Yoon-hee’s revenge over Cheong Seo-jin and Joo Dan-tae. Joo Dan-tae and Cheong Seo-jin finally start to live a happy life without seeing back to their dark past. With the announcement of Cheon Seo-jin and Joo Dan-tae’s wedding, they also announced the merging of the two businesses. Something that Joo Dan-tae always wanted to own, the Cheong-ah Art School.
Everything was going fine but then Joo Dan-tae’s engagement was interrupted by Oh Yoon-hee and Ha Eun-chul. Everyone was astonished with their sudden arrival and they knew that it was not a good sign. Ha Eun-byeol was not in a very good mental state since the start and we have seen it clearly in season 1. We also knew about her feelings for Seok-hoon, who was now going to be her step brother. She was not ready for her parents to separate but she was now shown the bitter truth of her mother’s wedding with her lover’s father. And Bae Ro-na returning was the worst she could expect. Thing were finally getting better between her and Seok-hoon but then, the sudden appearance of Seok-hoon’s first love could change everything.
It was just unbearable for Ha Eun-byeol as everything she wanted was now belonged to Rona, she was scared to lose the Grand Prize as well as Seok Hoon to her. While this was going on, Seok-Kyung rebels against her father and asks him not to abuse them and let her and Seok-Hoon study abroad. The condition that was raised by her father was that she wins the grand prize. She was willing to do anything to achieve her freedom and then she finds Cheon Seo-Jin’s weakness and threatens her to give her the award.
Ro-na had also returned for the same goal. She wanted to win the award for Min Seol-A and pay for her and her mother’s sin. But on the day of the Fest there was an accident and a student was found dead. Around this time Cheon Seo-jin was giving a second thought to her wedding if it was worth it, did she actually want the wedding?
Oh Yoon-hee was busy finding ways to trap Joo Dan-tae and she got a lead in form of Na Ae-gyo, the biological mother of the twins who was living off with Shim Su-Ryeon’s name and helping Joo Dan-tae expand his business. Oh Yoon-hee had to take her revenge for Shim Su-ryeon and tried to bring Na Aye-gyo to her side but Na Ae-gyo was too dedicated to Joo Dan-tae. Joo Dan-tae and Na Ae-gyo had a very strong relationship where Joo Dan-tae really trusted her with his life and this was shown here. But Na Ae-gyo was back with a hidden agenda and had different plans.
What to expect next?
Well after this we all were hoping this to be the end of all bad people and now the kids of Hera palace and Shim Su-ryeon with Logan Lee will have a good life. But then, its The Penthouse, a drama with more than just your regular twists, the writer definitely knows how to blow our minds and with Season 3, it isn’t expected to be any less. Everything about this drama was praiseworthy. The acting got me shivers for real! This is a 10/10 drama and I surely recommend this to people who enjoy dark type of shows. To all the viewers, congratulations for surviving this, all the best for season 3 and, if you haven’t seen this amazing piece of art yet go on and see this amazing drama!
