Sunshine on Stage, HOPE in Every Beat.
J-Hope, a name that emits sunshine. A name that radiates hope from every angle and is synonymous with people alike, especially ARMYs who jump in joy and scream with excitement at his mere presence. After getting discharged from the military last year on October 17th, he announced his long-awaited world tour, “HOPE ON THE STAGE,” much to the fans’ surprise and excitement on January 9th, 2025, sending them into a frenzy. Aside from dropping this quick bite, he released two massive hits, Sweet Dreams ft. Miguel & Mona Lisa, on March 7th and 21st, respectively, which, on the contrary, spread like wildfire and became a global trend thanks to the bewitching steps and their hooking lyrics.
On 26th April 2025, this extremely talented and humbly rooted South Korean artist and a proud member of the global icon and sensational boyband BTS crooned to the Singaporean audience at Singapore Indoor Stadium as part of the “HOPE ON THE STAGE” world tour, setting the stage on fire and swaying along, as fans experienced all sorts of emotions while watching him up close. Starting from his homeland, Seoul, J-Hope delivered a massive show-stealing performance in the KSPO Dome from February 29th to March 2nd with a packed crowd of 37,801 attendees. Moving ahead, he also toured cities like Brooklyn, Chicago, Mexico, San Antonio, Oakland, Los Angeles, Manila, Saitama, Jakarta, Macau, and Taipei, sending the crowd into a fever, and will wrap up the final leg of his tour in Osaka on June 1st.
We reached out to Ms. Shilpa Sharma, a fellow ARMY who attended the concert on day 1, and she was gracious enough to share her surreal experience with all of us and give some inside scoop about the concert and how watching J-Hope live made her feel. She also knows the nitty-gritty of business and runs her own K-pop merchandise shop, BTS INDIA MAGIC SHOP, online with one of her friends. Read ahead to learn more about this event and how it went.
Come on, who hasn’t heard of him? He began his journey with humble roots and dreamt of becoming a dancer. Becoming famous surely wasn’t in his cards, but he never gave up anything he ever yearned for. The fact that Hobi’s positivity, hard work, and immense passion keep him going makes his journey even more special. Born on February 18th, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea, J-Hope is a South Korean artist, rapper, singer-songwriter, dancer, and producer. He is a musical prodigy who needs no introduction. In the language of ARMYs, he is indescribable, so let’s hear from Ms. Shilpa, who beautifully captured his essence through her description of him.
J-Hope is not just a performer; he embodies passion and light. His energy is contagious, his artistry unmatched. From hard-hitting rap verses to fluid dance moves, he commands the stage with a powerful grace. Offstage, he radiates humility and warmth, always expressing gratitude toward ARMY. It’s easy to see why he’s such an inspiration; he puts his soul into every second of his performance. He is a down-to-earth personality. He made sure that his crew got their stage time in his concert, which shows his attitude and respect towards his work and the people he works with.
Lucky are those who get to watch their favorites off-screen. From top-notch productions to first-class dance crews and fiery hits, artists never fail to mesmerize the crowd and woo them with their charm and cute aegyo. J-Hope’s concert was a pure wonderland, and it was evident through his performance and complete enchantment. For Shilpa, the moment was unbelievable as she stepped into the crowd for the first time, blending her roots and creating new memories while vibing with people who came from every corner of the world just to watch what and whom they loved the most.
Standing in that queue was a rollercoaster of emotions. The sun was blazing, and my feet were sore, but none of that mattered. The queue started at 1 pm, and after the security check, we were sent to the assigned areas. We were all buzzing with excitement, clutching our lightsticks and fan banners, bonding with fellow ARMYs from different parts of the world. That moment when the gates were about to open? I swear time slowed down. Everyone tightened their grip on their bags, ready to dash in for the best spots. My heart was pounding; I was this close to seeing Hobi!
Being in the VIP stand was an out-of-body experience. The view, the closeness to the stage—it felt unreal. In the soundcheck, he came to barricade twice, and we were not prepared for that. When J-Hope glanced our way, or waved, or flashed his signature smile in our direction, the crowd melted. There was a moment during “MORE” when the bass dropped and the lights flared, and I looked around—everyone was jumping, crying, and living in the moment. That memory is etched in my heart forever. There were so many moments where he teased ARMYs, but the smile on his face seeing everyone cheering for him and singing every bit of his songs was unbeatable.

No concert is complete without firsts, some nervousness, and that excitement about getting to see your favorite idol on stage. BTS has always been sold-out kings, whether it’s their group concert or solo stints, and it was evident through J-Hope’s tour how much this stage and his fans meant to him.
The concert itself felt like a dream. The energy, the production, the music—everything was perfect. Singapore truly knows how to host a world-class event. The fans were incredibly respectful yet wildly enthusiastic. The city’s night lights added a magical glow, and every moment felt cinematic. Hobi’s stage presence was insane; he owned the stage like a king. We laughed, we cried, we danced, and we screamed. It was euphoria. The best thing about a Singapore concert is that you will not feel alone. People whom you have never met will try to help you as they can. I remember after the sound check, someone went to the snack bar and bought water bottles and gave them to others, which was generous of them. Even while concert security was passing water bottles in between to make sure everyone was hydrated, it was hot in Singapore.

No event is complete without a DJ or a disco booth, and no concert is complete without a powerful playlist, either. J-Hope delivered a spectacular performance and included a marvelous and powerful setlist, which had songs ranging from his solos to some sung by the whole group. Most of them were from Hope World, Jack In The Box, and Hope On The Street Vol. 1. It included songs such as “What if…,” “Pandora’s Box,” “Arson,” “Stop,” “More,” “On The Street (solo ver.),” etc. Then came his peppy tracks like “Lock/Unlock,” “I Don’t Know,” and “I Wonder (ft. Jungkook,” followed by “Trivia: Just Dance,” “Sweet Dreams (ft. Miguel), “MONA LISA,” “1 Verse,” “Base Line,” “HANGSANG,” “Airplane,” “Airplane Pt.2,” “MIC DROP,” “Bapsae,” “Dis-ease,” “Outro-Ego,” “Daydream,” “Chicken Noodle Soup (ft. Becky G),” and “Hope World.” And ending the concert with a bang, he performed an encore on songs like “= (Equal Sign),” “Future,” and “Neuron.”
HOPE ON THE STAGE was an absolute blast in Singapore. The two-day concert gave a lot to the ARMYs and also to the first timers who were experiencing different things altogether. J-Hope, having an incredible charisma, amazed the masses and seized the moment, all while meeting and greeting people after so many months. Those feelings, emotions, vibes, and familiarity culminated and gave a 360° déjà vu to everyone.
The overall vibe was electrifying. There was a deep sense of community, love, and shared joy. There were moments when fans started singing the chorus of songs like Sweet Dreams, I Wonder, Hangsang, Airplane, Chicken Noodle Soup, Mona Lisa, and Ego even before J-Hope did. He paused, smiled, and let us finish it. The way he looked at us—it was like he knew how much he meant to us, and we knew he felt our love. It wasn’t just a concert. It was a connection. To see him this happy, I think it made everyone’s heart content.
Some of the best parts were off-stage too—trading photocards, taking group pictures in our themed outfits, getting freebies from fanbases, and seeing creative banners everywhere. I even met a group of ARMYs from China, Finland, Korea, etc., and we’ve been in touch ever since. That day wasn’t just about the music—it was about being part of something bigger. I left with a heart full of gratitude and memories I’ll carry for life.

ARMYs surely had a gala time, and it gave them memories for a lifetime. Nothing can be compared to this euphoric feeling. We look forward to his journey and wish to see him perform with the rest of the BTS members in India soon.
