On December 28th, ARMYs gathered at GOT TEA, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, to celebrate Kim Taehyung’s 30th birthday. The cosy and dreamy cupsleeves event was organised by Ms. June Rose and Ms. Srishti, as a homage to BTS’s V, also known as Kim Taehyung. ‘Winter Bear’ and ‘Last Christmas’ played in the background as ARMYs gathered together in Taehyung’s signature serenity. The event was a blend of V’s modern muse and vintage soul, reflected in the soft brown and muted gold decor, which aesthetically matched his vibes. Every year, ARMYs all over the world celebrate V’s birthday, but this particular celebration felt personal and touched everyone’s hearts.

A Celebration of Music, Moments, and Memories

The hosts ensured the event went beyond just merch and focused on memorable moments. The event began with a guess the song contest. Soon, the overwhelming footfall filled the cafe to full capacity. Laughter dominated the air, camera shutters clicked nonstop, and fans sang along to the background music. The cafe transformed into a purple land, brimming with celebration, music, and fan spirit at its peak.

No birthday is complete without a cake, and the host delivered it perfectly. V’s cake was custom-tailored to his taste: a heavenly strawberry and chocolate creation. As the cake was cut, the ARMYs gathered and sang the Korean birthday song, filling the room with warmth against the December cold. The ARMYs shared cake, smiles, and captured the moment, not just in photos and videos but also preserved a heartfelt memory of togetherness and shared love for V and BTS.

After the cake-cutting ceremony, the host organized another series of engaging rounds of games and activities, including Guess the Song, Pick a Photo Card, and Decorate Your Key Chain. The ARMYs loved all the games and activities, especially the photocard game. BTS cards were arranged upside down, and the ARMYs were asked to select any one; whoever selected V could keep it for free, making the experience even more special. The games and activities made the atmosphere more lively, interactive, through friendly competition and participation. Fans continued to bond throughout the day over their shared love for BTS and V, making the whole event memorable.

V’s Birthday Party: Community and Fandom Celebration

The hosts of the event, Ms. June Rose and Ms. Srishti Mishra, found the inspiration for this successful and memorable event in their personal journeys as a BTS ARMY. June Rose previously witnessed a cupsleeve event in South Korea, where she was inspired by the warmth and the shared sense of community and spirit of fandom, which led her to pitch the idea to Sristhi. Srishti‘s response was immediate and enthusiastic as they both decided to hold this cupsleeve event for V’s birthday celebration back in November.

Their efforts paid off as the event saw an impressive turnout with fans coming from even different states just to participate in this particular event. The cafe quickly turned into a lively spot as attendees bonded over their shared love for BTS and V, and to their astonishment, BTS’s Suga came live on Weverse. The ARMYs happiness knew no bounds as they all gathered to listen to Suga.

Attendees Experience

One of the attendees, Ms. D, a PhD candidate from SRM Chennai, talked about how she loved the event and that she made friends and met people from different walks of life, which she will keep with her as cherished memories.

Another attendee, Ms. Divya, an investment banker, stated,

The Taehyung birthday celebration at GOT TEA, Punjabi Bag,h was very beautifully curated – from the dope, aesthetic décor to the fun interactive games like guessing his songs and finding his photocard. The cake-cutting brought everyone together, and overall, it felt like a warm, joyful space where ARMYs could genuinely celebrate Taehyung and BTS.

Similarly, one more attendee stated,

These gatherings are not just about partying but are safe spaces and  places to bond in a sense of community.

Conclusion

By evening, as ‘Slow Dancing’ played in the background, people lingered longer, taking pics and deciding new plans for 2026, unwilling to let go of the warmth created through the event. The event was not just a success, but it left a mark on people’s hearts; it was a memory of celebrating art, music, and fandom. It was a profoundly beautiful day spent in the spirit of community and friendship.

The event was symbolic of the power of community, as ARMYs who had never met before were trading photocards, sharing memories, and making profound intangible memories.

“This sounded like such a cozy and aesthetically perfect celebration for Taehyung! I love that the hosts focused on creating a ‘serene’ atmosphere that truly matched his personality. This sounds like the dreamiest way to celebrate our Winter Bear’s 30th! The vintage gold decor idea is so Taehyung. I love that Indian ARMYs created such a warm, safe space to bond—and getting a Suga notification in the middle of it? That’s just the cherry on top! Borahae!

  13. Aditae says:

This sounds like such a heartfelt and beautifully curated celebration. What stands out the most is how the event wasn’t just about merch or aesthetics, but about creating a warm, shared space for fans to connect through music and memories. The soft, vintage-inspired decor paired with songs like “Winter Bear” and “Slow Dancing” really reflects Kim Taehyung’s artistic vibe, which makes the whole atmosphere feel even more personal rather than just a typical birthday event.

I also love how the cupsleeve event captured the true spirit of fandom culture — community. Moments like singing together during the cake cutting, trading photocards, and bonding over games show how ARMY spaces often become safe and comforting environments, especially in a big city setting like Delhi. It’s less about a celebrity celebration and more about collective emotional connection.

Another really touching detail is how the inspiration came from a cupsleeve event in South Korea and was recreated locally. That cultural bridge between global and Indian ARMYs highlights how BTS’ influence brings people from different backgrounds together in a meaningful way. Even the excitement around Suga going live on Weverse during the event adds a spontaneous, unforgettable layer to the experience.

Overall, the event feels less like a fan gathering and more like a memory-making space — where music, friendship, and admiration for BTS blended into something deeply personal. It shows how fandom celebrations today are evolving into emotional communities rather than just celebrations.

I celebrated Tae’s birthday at home – kept it simple with sweets instead of cake, played his songs on repeat, and shared wishes across different social media platforms. I even posted some edits on the BTS fanpage I run. What I love most is how ARMYs everywhere come together on members’ birthdays, organizing events, sharing love, and building bonds with each other. It’s honestly so heartwarming to see the unity and joy in the fandom. 💜
