K-Song Review: The Truth Untold (ft. Steve Aoki)

Rimsha Seher, Delhi: They say that there’s an untold story behind a person’s favourite song – a reason why they like the song so much that its name rolls out of their tongue every time they’re asked about their favourite song. Could it be that they can relate to the lyrics? Or is it because they are enthralled by the melody? The reason behind a song being someone’s favourite can only be answered by the person, just like how only I can describe why ‘The Truth Untold (ft.Steve Aoki)’ from BTS’s album, Love Yourself: Tear, is my favourite song.

K-Pop: An Inspiring Musical Journey

Diya Jain, Delhi: The world offers an endless amount of fresh and breathtaking art in the form of movies, films, songs, paintings, and much more. But we often find ourselves cocooned in our world, to an extent that the majority of cultures remain alien to the average individual. Even in the case of diverse musical cultures, as a fan of K-pop, I’m often asked the reason to choose and appreciate the music I listen to. After all, it is in Korean, they say. But the beautiful thing about music that most fail to notice is that one does not need to understand the language in order to enjoy it.

Reasons for BTS’ Global Popularity

Yashi Priya, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Bangtan Sonyeondan, widely popular as BTS, is a seven-member boy band from South Korea that debuted in 2013 with their lead single ‘No More Dream’ from the album 2 Cool 4 Skool. The artists were under Big Hit Entertainment, a small company with humble beginnings. As the name of the group suggests, the septet desire “to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that are aimed at the adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents.”

Taejin Event at KCCI, Delhi

Archana Goswami, Delhi: I always wanted to attend a K-event at KCCI (Korean Cultural Center of India), Delhi, ever since I got interested in the Korean Culture through K-pop and K-dramas. Last year, I finally got the chance to be a part of an event at KCCI. The admin of Korean Culture India Fan Club, Ms. Prerna Tiwari organised a birthday celebration event for BTS members Kim Seok-jin and Kim Tae-hyung on December 29, 2019. I will forever be grateful to her for organising this event and giving all of us a memorable experience of a lifetime. Around 130 fans attended this event!
