K-Song Review: Start Over by Gaho

Riya Rawat, Noida, Uttar Pradesh: Start over is one of the main theme songs from the popular K-drama, Itaewon Class, starring famous south Korean actor Park Seo-joon. Written by Park Sung and performed by Kang Dae-ho, also known as Gaho, the song has won multiple awards and nominations including Best OST in 12th Melon Music Awards and others. One year after its release in 2020, this song still gives me goosebumps because of its relatable lyrics and beautifully conceptualised video. The song acts as a binding force for the viewers throughout the music video, as the storyline of the series unfolds.

K-Song Review: BTS’ Zero O’Clock (00:00)

Kabir Khan, New Delhi: Listening to BTS has always been a pleasure. Over the years, one after the other, they’ve been continuously releasing terrific hits. Released in 2020, ‘Map of the Soul: 7’, we were gifted with some of the best melodies with the most beautiful lyrics. Eshani Bora, Guwahati, Assam: ‘Trivia 轉: Seesaw’ is a solo song by Suga or Min Yoongi of BTS. A song from BTS’ repackaged album Love Yourself 結 Answer, it was released on August 24, 2018. ‘Seesaw’ is written and produced by Suga and Slow Rabbit.

K-Song Review: IU’s ‘Eight’ (Ft. BTS’ Suga)

Payal Singh, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: ‘Eight’ is a digital single by Lee Ji-eun, better known as IU, that was released by EDAM Entertainment on May 6, 2020. The song is written by the singer-songwriter along with BTS’ Suga, and El Capitxn joins the two as the composer of the song. Upon its release, ‘Eight’ debuted at No. 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard World Digital Song Sales and also earned the Triple Crown on SBS’ Inkigayo. This song has recently won the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) under the best collaboration category.

K-Song Review: The Truth Untold (ft. Steve Aoki)

Rimsha Seher, Delhi: They say that there’s an untold story behind a person’s favourite song – a reason why they like the song so much that its name rolls out of their tongue every time they’re asked about their favourite song. Could it be that they can relate to the lyrics? Or is it because they are enthralled by the melody? The reason behind a song being someone’s favourite can only be answered by the person, just like how only I can describe why ‘The Truth Untold (ft.Steve Aoki)’ from BTS’s album, Love Yourself: Tear, is my favourite song.

K-Song Review: ‘Promise’ by BTS’ Park Ji-min

Sakina Mustansir, Hyderabad, Telangana: BTS member Park Ji-min, better known as Jimin, released ‘Promise’ (약속) on December 31, 2018, on SoundCloud. Composed along with Slow Rabbit, it is an acoustic song with soft music, complemented by the angelic voice of Jimin. This is one of those songs that genuinely suits him and brings out the softness in his voice in a special way.

K-OST Review: ‘Orbit’ by MAMAMOO’s Hwasa

Sonali Sharma, Tezpur, Assam: Girl group MAMAMOO’s Ahn Hye-jin, better known by her stage name Hwasa, took the fans by surprise when she joined the original soundtrack lineup of SBS’s The King: Eternal Monarch and released her first-ever solo OST titled ‘Orbit’ on April 19, 2020.

K-Song Review: ‘Yours’ by Raiden X Chanyeol (ft. Lee Hi, Changmo)

Susmita Sanyal, Kolkata, West Bengal: ‘Yours’ is a much-awaited track that released on May 12, 2020. A collaboration between DJ Raiden and EXO’s Park Chanyeol, the track also features Lee Ha-yi and Ku Chang-mo known by their stage name as Lee Hi and Changmo respectively. It had created quite a buzz ever since the collaboration was announced. The subsequent unveiling of the teasers only added to the fervour.
