Meet Kai, the charismatic heartbeat of EXO, an artist who doesn’t just dance but commands the stage with every breath. He debuted with EXO, a renowned group under SM Entertainment, in 2012. He quickly gained attention for his exceptional dancing skills, which are rooted in his background in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. He was enlisted for his mandatory military service on May 11, 2023, and after getting discharged from his military service on February 10 this year, he announced his solo concert tour “KAION” on March 6. Following the announcement of his tour dates, he also dropped two major hits, “Wait on Me” and “Adult Swim”, both of which were enjoyed by all EXOLs.

On 24 May 2025, Kai held his solo concert tour KAION in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which was organized by CKStar Entertainment Company at  Mega Star Arena, Convention Centre, on a thrilling evening, captivating all EXOLs from the beginning of the concert to the end. After his military service, the tour breathtakingly kicked off on May 17-18, 2025, in Seoul, and will continue through August with stops in Macau, Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Yokohama, and Hong Kong. Rashmi, an EXO-L from India, attended the concert, and here’s her experience of that unforgettable night.

Concert Highlights

The concert began with Mmmh, which was the perfect intro and brought all the energy up in the crowd, igniting cheers across the venue, and when Kai wore the red outfit while performing Mmmh and Peaches, he just slayed on the stage along with Bada Lee, making it even more special. His moves were so captivating that most of the fans were trying to hold onto their seats.  When he stepped onto the stage for soundcheck, he was greeted with ovations from EXO-Ls. As Kai took a short break to engage with his audience, he said that the bond they share and the love they’ve built over the years are things that time can never erase. It was a potent reminder that even after a long period of separation, an artist’s bond with their fans can endure the trials and tribulations over a while.

The concert atmosphere was electrifying with all the EXO-Ls waving their lightsticks and supporting him by singing along with him.  His harmonious voice and captivating dance moves made a big impression on his performance moments all night. Mesmerizing lights and visuals added to the many highlights experienced throughout the live concert. Notable moments from the night included Kai’s alluring performance of ‘Domino‘ and the emotionally resonant ‘Wait on Me,’ each showcasing his versatility and magnetic stage presence.

The concert was full house and all were holding onto their emotions as seeing Kai after so long was nothing less than a miracle and humming to all his songs.The pre concert show was electric and buzzing with anticipation. Stalls selling Kai and EXO merchandise like lightsticks, banners, photocards etc, were thronged by exols who couldn’t hold their excitement to see him on stage. It was once in a lifetime event which will be etched in my memories forever.

Kai’s comeback was strong and he delivered much more than I expected. His choreography, his singing everything was marvelous.  The performances were electrifying, which would be an understatement to say. His visuals were breath-taking and simply captivating and now we all Exo-Ls want is an OT9 comeback.

Conclusion

Kai’s concert was a spectacular reflection of his growth as an artist, showing how much he’s evolved as a performer. From the moment he set foot on stage to the very last encore, Kai captivated the crowd with his irresistible talent and charm. The energy in the room, the smiles, the cheers, and even the tears—everything came together to create something truly special.

As the curtains drew, one thing was clear— he gave all his fans the moment that they’ll never forget. With more projects to come, Kai keeps going further on making the path for solo K-pop artists and showing the world that his artistry, aesthetics, and impact on the world are just getting started.
